Newbie questions

Luna,

Sounds like you're a natural. Use a patterned paper as a base and then your solid cardstock as photo mats to make the pictures pop off the pages. But don't feel confined to that. Stretch yourself, have fun and remember it's not expected to be "perfect" it's a homemade art, an expression of love and will be perfect however you do it. Put a handwriten dedication at the beginning and a Love/signature line at the end perhaps. Your sister is going to be thrilled despite the lack of pure black pages!

Sounds like you're already enjoying your journey... Yay!

Yeah, I know it doesn't have to be perfect, but little imperfections irk me. I can't let them rest. I've always been that way.

Oh man. My handwriting is atrocious. I'll be typing everything. I know it's less personal, and not traditional, but it won't bother my sister in the least. We're both firmly ensconced in the digital age. She even emailed her wedding invitations. Yes, we are that crass.

Well, I've always loved paper, and I've always loved collages and decoupage, so scrapbooking is a natural fit for me. I have no idea why I've never done it before. I guess the overwhelming amount of decisions to be made is a little intimidating. Did I mention an hour and a half in the paper aisle? I'm trying really hard to pace myself with this project, do a little at a time so I won't emotionally drown in it. I could see this quickly turning into an obsession. Something where I can cut and glue stuff, and ALSO incorporate digital art by making my own patterned paper like Amy does? I could easily end up spending myself silly on supplies and abandoning the rest of my life, becoming a hermit surrounded by piles of paper and scissors and glue and stickers oh my.

There are support groups for this, right? In case I get in trouble?

LOL Luna. I think I lose track of time when I get into the paper areas of my LSS. I could just look all day. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I have to buy almost all of the ones I am drawn to. And by the way this IS the support group for paper floozies! Sabrina

Learn all the rules. Then you will know how to break them properly.

You've found the right group if you need support... that is support in buying more paper and scrapbooking supplies.

Don't worry about becoming a hermit as long as you have your computer to contact the rest of us that are sitting with our piles of paper, glue and stickers in our hair. haha
