New to Scrapbooking

I'm just starting out and need some suggestions. Where can a beginner learn the techniques needed to create pages? I looked at a couple of magazines in the craft store but they were both full of ideas for pages and neither had anything about techniques for building the pages themselves. Is there a good book, magazine or DVD anyone could suggest? Right now I have a blank book, some paper, pens, craft scissors etc that they sold me but no idea at all where to start. Please help.

Thanks, Debra

LOL Nope, not me Sandy. There's lots of us Deb/Debbie/Debra/Deborah ladies out there! LOL

Welcome to RCS Debra! Sandy is so right about the local scrapbook store. Looking back, I wish I had taken a scrapbooking 101 class. LOL You'll find RCS to be a great place to get ideas from. We're real good about sharing new techniques we learn, products we see, and ideas we have. Stick around and you'll be scrapping in no time!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and the helpful suggestions.

I believe it would be a good idea to learn scrapbooking. My son is on his second tour of duty in Iraq and I thought it would be something interesting I can do to keep from chewing my fingernails down to the nub. He is married and his wife is waiting at his duty station about 175 miles away but maybe scrapbooking can turn into a joint project to help both of us. Sort of do it together but just in different locations. LOL. We talk on the phone a lot and both have computers so possibly we can both get involved in this and keep us sane. Even if it turns out that she doesn't enjoy it, its still something I want to do even on my own and I have tons of pictures just sitting in boxes.
