I had a fantastic trip. Took five classes, shopped till my friends dropped, and did several make-n-takes. We arrived in Nashville at midnight (didn't get away till after work) on Thursday. There was a suite available at the Comfort Inn and we were upgraded free - that was a bonus! Had to be at the convention by 8 to get registered and the early admission to the vendors fair. Somehow I ended up with three SEI classes. I usually don't take more than one from a vendor, but my friend and I had some extra time and signed up for one of the available classes and it turned out to be another SEI one. I will try to post the LO's tonight. SEI featured mini albums on their LO's to get in more photos. One class was a disapointment - Acrylic Mania II with Lickety Split Scrapbooks. I thought we would learn about using acrylics on our LO's. Instead it was one of their kits (it was a cute kit) and all we did with acrylics was to paint the back of an alphabet letter and put a little chalk on the designs on the front of the leter and stick it to the page. I paid $18 for the class. If I had just purchased the kit from their booth and read the directions myself it would have been $15. Though, I am not really a kit person. At the vendors fair I picked up a set of the glaze embossing pens I've been wanting for so long. I also bought a couple of new tee shirts, lots of ribbon, die kits from deluxe designs, new paper from SEI, lots of fancy brads, a complete album kit for DD, more colors of distressing pads, some gifts for my NSSSF, some new bazzil chipboard sets, mini albums, and lots of embellishments. At the crop a lady stopped at our table and looked at some of our LO's. We talked about some of the classes we'd taken and then got into a discussion on photography. I mentioned wwanting to use more black and white photos and wanting to learn how to put a little bit of color on them. She said she didn't want to push a magazine, but she did have an article in the new issue CK Computer Tricks about doing this very thing with photoshop. That's when I found out I was talking to Jessica Sprague......my friend said she recognized her when she walked up....not me - that was a duh moment. I did buy one of the magazines the next day. M-C, I talked to a group of ladies from Knoxville that joined at the tlc booth because they were getting a free scrapbooking tee shirt from the consultant when they signed up. (I had stopped them and asked where they got their shirts) I came home with five one dollar bills in my pocket and we are already making plans for next year. Sandy

Hi Sandy! It sounds like you had a fun weekend, and you got lots of goodies, too! I have wondered about some of those classes they offer, and if they were worth the price. I guess you just have to take the chance that it will be worth it, and learn some new techniques. Thanks for the report! Glad you arrived home safely!~ Linda

I left Thursday night at about 7:30 pm and arrived home Saturday night at around 10 pm. The next day we drove to older DS's home (45 miles away) so DH could help him install a dishwasher and redo some of the kitchen cabinets. Younger DS and I took some of the grandchildren to the zoo for the day to get them out from under foot. We had a good time, but after a trip to CKC and a day at the zoo it was hard to function at the daycare on Monday. I'm doing better today. Though I was definitely looking forward to naptime. Sandy

I bet those were Scrapbook Girl T'shirts. One of the owners, Krystal Grant is in our upline and she will be helping me with my TLC booth at CKC. Just so you know if you identify yourself to her, she does give us gals a discount on Scrapbook Girl products! I'm sure that it didn't hurt either that they were getting $360 of products + the free T-shirt for $90! I'm pretty dissapointed that that special kit is only available till the end of May and that CKC Lauderdale is end June!!!

April, I would love to be able to go on a scrapbook cruise. Don't know if I could swing it. I do think with the hotel, food, transportation, classes and shopping I probably came close. Sandy

I'm just lucky that there are two CKC conventions within driving distance of Southern Indiana every year to chose from. Sandy

Sounds like it was a very good trip! That's a bummer that the acrylic class was a dissappointment. Don't worry about not knowing who Jessica Sprague was. I wouldn't have known her either! LOL

One of these days Kenda, we should kidnap your mom, Cindy, DS's girlfriend, and the other two crazy nuts in stamp camp and we all go to a scrapbook convention. Hubbys? Children? They can fend for themselves for a few days, I think. LOL
