CK Nashville Convention LO's

I put the LO's I made at the CK Nashville Convention in an album on my webshots. I also added the projects I made in some of the classes. We didn't get all of them done so I will have a few more to add later when I get time and recover from a whirlwind trip. I took five classes in addition to the Friday evening crop. That was enough for me considering it was my first ever scrapbook convention. I was overwhelmed by the vendors, the classes, the crowd, the super-fast pace and the size of the Opryland Resort Complex. I shopped till I dropped, talked till I was hoarse, shared ideas, met new friends, walked for miles (it sure felt like it), ate good food, learned new techniques, and had a great time. I thought I was being very bad spending so much in the embellish IT! booth until they totaled the lady in front of me. She spent $700 on Bazzill cardstock and paper and carried it all away in one shopping bag. The highlight of my shopping was the ScrapArts Booth. They sold cups for $10 and $20 where you could fill them with brads, eyelets, mini cards, dominoes, jewels, etc. - in every shape, color and size imaginable. I packed it well, even turning the brad points down to save space. I had never seen dragonfly brads before!!! I am glad to be back home though - looking forward to going to another one somewhere next year. Sandy

Wow Sandy...had to search out your webshot account but have to say it was worth it. You obviously had a terrific time at the convention and a very productive day. I love your LO's with and without pictures, your tags are brilliant too! Aubrey Mae's LO is gorgeous and the Prom LO is just elegant. I really liked the way you have distressed on Jessie's LO's...can I ask how you achieved the scallopy sort of effect ????....very nice!!!!! Can you tell I like your LO's....LOL Marilyn

I bought one of Clearsnaps Pigment Catseye Inkpads - they are acid free. It's curved and when you touch it to the paper it leaves a scallopy edge. Sandy

Thanks Sandy,

I wondered if the pigment pads would give the same look. I know they are acid free and I guess you just need to give a little drying time....oh....I need to get some to try now...LOL Off to have a plunder on eBay again....ROFL Marilyn

That sounds like so much fun Sandy! I envy you being able to go. :-) Gee...I wonder if there would ever be one close to me. LOL See, now we're enabling each other to go to Expos! Where does the enabling end?

Sounds like a great time Sandy. As you may have noticed, I love being able to visit different places. So next year if you want a ctropping patner, let me know where you are going. I did think of going to the Nashville one but it conflicted with going with DH to AZ!

Deb, Nashville is less than 6 hours drive time away about the same distance as Dallas. Maybe we can go sometime!

It was a 3.5 hour trip for us. Not bad, except we drove in snow, sleet, hail and rain to get there. No turning back.... Sandy

Sandy, It looks and sounds like you had a great time. I really liked the dragonfly accent and the tags, though everything is well done. There are some really great ideas there.

I like the fill a cup idea too! My sister in-law and I will be at the CK Convention in Portland Oregon on Friday. It will be the first time either of us has attended a SB convention. We are each taking a vacation day to go. I will definitely be on the lookout for that booth!!

M.C., (and newsgroup friends) if you ever find yourself in the Portland Oregon/Vancouver Washington vicintiy be certain to give me a shout. I'd love to show you the sights of our beautiful region and hunt for scrapbooking treasures while on the tour.

Take a shoulder bag that will hold a lot! I didn't and ended up buying one of the conference bags. It is a really nice bag with lots of room, but I could have brought home a few more scrappin supplies instead. I hope Deluxe Cuts is there too. The sold every one of their lazer cuts for $1 regardless of size. I got some full page size cuts to put pics behind for the same price as the smaller ones. And little black dress designs had a great booth too. Hope you have a great time. I know I did. Sandy

Wow Sandy, it looks like you had a great time and got a lot accomplished. I love the dragonfly make-an-take. It is really pretty. The layouts are beautiful too. I'll have to try the idea of using a sticker to hold a cut sheet protector together. My daughter would love the Eiffel Tower tag. It is a favorite decorating item of hers.
