Cathy, Last Saturday I was driving home from our zoo event in St. Louis and was only about 20 minutes from the St. Louis CKC. We stopped for a little over two hours as one of our other moms is a scrapbooker too. The girls sat around in the lobby and the food court while we went into the vendors fair. For me it was well worth the stop. I do love the vendors fair. You get to see so much of the new stuff out there in the scrapbook world. I did spend some money, do a few make-n-takes, and play with some of the big tools like the wishblade. The xyron booth was 40% off all xyron products - excluding the wishblade. I saw two ladies there with scooters and a couple more with wheelchairs. It is a bit crowded - from my experience at the Nashville CKC a couple of years ago and the St. Louis CKC last year it is more crowded on Saturday than on Friday. A lot more local people come in on Sat to shop - on their day off work. I could have spend a couple of more hours there, but with a 3 hour drive home after spending the night at the zoo and a group of middle school girls I had to get going. I am registered at the Nashville CKC on May 4-5, so I will get to shop to my hearts content, and do more of the make-n-takes. If they are there, the "dollar scrapbooking" booth, "scrap arts" booth (where you can fill a cup with fancy brads & eyelets - different sizes have different prices), and the "deluxe designs" booth are definitely worth the stop. I didn't have time for the Rusty Pickle booth, not the S.E.I. booth, but I knew I would see them at Nashville. Just walking past them was enough to let me know I need to save more money for the next trip. I wish there was time to send you one of the coupon sheets I have here. They work at any of the CKC's. Call your local LSS to see if they have any vendor fair coupons. Our LSS in Indiana had some the first year I went to Nashville. It was for $3 off the vendor fair entry which is normally $10. Have fun when you go. Sandy

I went to the CKC in St. Louis in my wheelchair. I had no problems with getting around and I did see a couple of gals with scooters. Now for the convention- I'd give it a grade of C. If you need a close parking space/handicapped space, go early. I did not register on line so I had to wait to 10:00 AM to get in. Online registration got in at

0900 AM and they had classes starting at 0830 AM. I know from past experiences to go early and take a book. I bought a spellbinder's wizard die cut machine and some die cuts

. I found one place selling Color Box cats eyes ink cheap. As for as everything else, I didn't think it was that great. Paper prices were no cheaper than what I can find at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. And you better like the dark gypsy look. Almost all the stands had that look to their paper. I saw an "Art Board from one of the classes. It was a long canvas decorated with odds and ends and had three smaller canvases attached. Everyone was ohh and awwing over it. I was thinking to my self "What would you do with it? Mount it on a wall?" You can't wipe it off to clean it. In 6 months, it would be full of dust and dog hair and it would hit the trash. I guess I'm getting to old for some of this stuff. The "Dollar Booth" and the "Xyron" were good stop. I did buy some refills for my Xyron sticker maker. I was back on the road by 1230 PM. I wanted to go to the Rubberstamping Convention in June but unfortunately, I will be in Sunny California. It was great last year with LOTS of new stuff.

I think it sounds interesting... I've never seen one but I expect you'd hang it up on the wall like a painting or a wallhanging. It's not like you can wipe down a painting or other piece of artwork either. You just dust them every now and then and leave them be... (Google doesn't have any references, so it must be such a 'new thing' that nobody has it on the internet yet...)

I know what you mean about the paper. I find it so hard to believe how crazy people get over the Bazzill booth. I never buy paper or cardstock at a convention unless it is part of a special kit. I look for the unusual - things my LSS does not sell. I love to pick up the brads and eyelets and embellishments. Pre-packaged brads and eyelets are so expensive and JoAnn's doesn't carry the special brads I like. Though I do get lots there of the regular ones when they are on sale. Were you there Fri or Sat? We might have passed each other in the crowd. Sandy

I went to the show on Friday. I dunno. I dust all my pictures that I have hanging when I do the room. This thing with all the atttachments couldn't be dusted in anyway. And with my shedding hound I'm always cleaning up hair. Did anyone who went take a class? I thought the classes were expensive. But then I'm use to going to Archievers, Red Lead, The Artfull Hand who hold classes at a reasonalble prices.

Waaaasaaaaaaa!!!! I'm so jealous of you Sandy, and you too, Cathy. I have never been to a scrapbook convention of any kind. They never seem to make it anywhere near Little Rock. I know Kenda has gone to rubber stamping conventions in Memphis, but I don't know of any scrapbook conventions that have made it there. In the meantime, I love hearing abuot everyone's experiences at them and hearing about all the new things they found!

I went and had a blast..i used my scooters husbands to get around and wow did i learn quick how to stop and go..hee he all the Vendors were great and so helpful but not as big as the Phoenix convention i heard..but for me it was fun. i bought some stuff and the lady i went with that treated me to this went wild and bought over

800.00 dollars worth.she got so many extras doing that too and so s he will give the extras she said..wow how sweet..learned lots of new ways to do simple things and everyone was so helpful...because of bieng in my scooter they came to me to show me how to do things or helped me shop which was real nice.. Only trouble i had was turning those sharp corners into the restrooms..haha that was funny. i laughed all day and had a blast..wish i had more money but isnt that the case with it all the time.. i went out to dinner and i got another surprise from my friend she bought me a scrapbook kit album set and a birthday card with $100.00 in it to spend there..wow what a treat.. it was packed as i knew it would be but all in all it was exciting and hope to go to another one someday...it was fun. i never laughed so much and riding that scooter was so helpful for me.. came home beat but to a surprise..Hubby had a huge sign on the gate wishing me happy birthday and inside he bought me a blender and a torqouise watch and Sees candy. wow and a beautiful sentimental card..now what a way to end the day.. today i have to figure where to put this stuff..hahaha i cant wait to start playing with my new stuff.. if you get a chance to go i say go for it i was nervous but heck they even gave out free fudge popsicles which was really good.. so all in all i had one heck of a day..took photos to make an album of course and my friend took lots of photos she will share with me. cant wait to see them.. so there it is in a nutshell..i give it a THUMBS UP.... cathy

Wow!!! Cathy. Sounds like you had a blast. I can't wait to go to the CKC in Nashville in two weeks. My friend and I are staying in a hotel for two nights and attending the CKC on Friday and Saturday. Sandy
