Hey all! I THINK I am all caught up on reading posts. I was only gone three days, and it seems like longer. I was having computer withdrawals! haha We left for Peoria around 2 on Monday, in anticipation of bad weather, and we got there and got settled in at the hotel, and went out for dinner. Eight of us in our group went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, and it was so busy that we couldn't all eat together, so we split into groups of four women and four men. Dinner was GREAT, I had never been there before and it was awesome! We had cheese fries for an appetizer, and I had a salad, steak and a baked sweet potato with marshmallows and caramel sauce. YUM YUM. It was Margarita Monday, so I couldn't pass that up, and had two! :-)
~~>Funny story......when it came time for the check, the waitresses came to our table and told us our 'husbands' had already taken care of the bill!!! (Our manager usually buys us dinner..he is so nice) We were like....."uh...NOOO!! They are just our co- workers!!"LMAO It was hysterical, and the waitresses were a little embarrassed! So, we were joking about what the waitresses must have thought about which one of us 'wives' were assumed to be with which 'husband" ..OMG we laughed and laughed...so one of the gals went over to the "husband" table, and kissed our store manager on the cheek and said "Thanks for dinner honey!" He turned a little red, and we all got a really good laugh out of it after we filled the guys in on the joke! :-) So at the show, we got some good deals and some new ideas, I brought home lots of free samples and pens, and junk freebies that the vendors give away. Tuesday evening, I brought my dad as my guest to the cocktail hour, and the big dinner with entertainment afterwards. It was a very nice evening, the food was excellent and the ballroom was gorgeous. Dad always enjoys getting out, and seeing the 'other side of the retail world' as he puts it! (He is in the furniture business) The dinner was at an old hotel in Peoria, and it is just beautiful, and undergoing major renovations. Check out the link below, we had dinner in the room pictured at the top.
