Gas attendant? Where do they still have those? Or do you mean he just takes the money, not pumps the gas for you?
OUCH! What was she driving?

I had to quit filling my tank and just stop at $50. We've really cut back on travel. I have to drive 26 miles to get groceries and supplies. We've been combining the trips with other trips and checking to see who has to go, me, my older daughter or my niece. This weekend it's my turn as DD need a new outfit for confirmation. But, we're taking the truck as DH needs drywall and plywood. I'm going to check at Wal-Mart as a friend called me yesterday to say that there were 4 Happily Ever After cartridges there on clearance for $35. Maybe there will be one left, and maybe the will have dropped. Sandy

Just filled my tank yesterday... $75. There were cheaper places, but I thought by the time I drive over there my savings would be gone in the gas it would take to get there. I really cut back on my driving about 2 years ago. I use to drive about 15,000 miles a year. I've been down to 9,000. I really can't see cutting it more. Guess I better get my bike out.

I am really lucky in that I Vanpool to work, so I am only buying gas every two weeks or so, but even then, i've been visiting my far away friends less often, and it's still $50 for my small tank (Subaru) - at Costco, which is the cheapest i"ve found around. It's really out of hand, especially when you hear the oil companies are making record profits - GRRR. Cutting back on driving's not so bad for some folks, for others it's not possible, and even worse, it's not like you can really cut back much on food!!! And part of why it's gone up so much
- the fuel prices!!!! I mean, I am almost living paycheck to paycheck as it is, but I have some savings and some support. Imagine the people already working poor and barely making it - how can they survive this? It was nice to get the $600 from the government, but it's basically covered bills, and really doesn't help much on the daily stuff, you know?
Ok - that's my soap box rant for today.
Thanks for sharing that link!

I was at the gas station the other day and the person before me spent $7.50 for 1 3/4 gallons of gas. I guess it was all the money they had at the time. I try to fill mine up when it is half full, so that the price isn't too shocking. I have noticed that the price has gone from $4.19 to $4.15 in the last couple of days. Hopefully it will go down even more.
