OT: Crayola stuff at Michaels

We went to Michaels on Saturday, not for scrapbooking stuff, but for Easter Egg Hunt stuff. We did, however take a quick looksie at the scrapbooking section for anything about Bassetts or Transformers. Didn't find any, but DD was really trying to get me to buy a new one of the vellum quick quotes booklets. Great, she's 9 and already trying to enable me! LOL

Anyways, I forgot to look at the new Crayola section they have. Michaels has a whole Crayola product section now! It's called "The Knack". It's a whole section of Crayola brand products designed to support and grow kids creativity and imagination. I'm very excited about this! I have my owne personal Crayola crayons. I do share them with the kiddos, but they do have to ask first. LOL One of these "family nights" that we have every week, we're going to color just so I have an excuse to color in a coloring book. LOL

For those of you that have young children, grandchildren, neices, nephews, etc, or just know young children, you gotta check out Michaels "The Knack" section. Like I said, I forgot to go look at the section here, but I did pick up the booklet they had at the door about the products. We're talking products for toddlers on up! You can go to

formatting link
and just click on "The Knack" link.

Deb do you ever recall seeing a clay-like product made by Crayola (as best as I can recall) that you shape and then put in water overnight to harden it? It is white and came in a bag. I bought some years ago when my son had to do one of those shoebox diorama's and I have looked for it at AC Moore and they don't seem to have it anymore.

No, I'm afraid I haven't seen it. I looked through the booklet that I picked up at Michaels on Saturday though. They're carrying Model Magic, Model Magic Fushion, and Air-Dry Clay. All air-dry, no putting it in water to dry overnight.

Thanks for looking. I guess they don't make it anymore. ;o(

Are you talking about wet set clay? I love that stuff. I have used it in my classroom several times, but not for a few years. I just checked and the crayola website says it has been discontinued. That's too bad...that stuff was great!

Yes, that is what it was called! I don't understand why they discontinued it because it was far better than the modeling clay that they have out today.
