opening day at Michaels

A new Michaels is opening near me this week and I was wondering if it is worth facing the crowds on opening day. Are the bargains worth it? Or should I wait for a couple of days? Is it worth lining up before it opens?

Many thanks

I might not be the person to answer, because I hate crowds and avoid them at all costs. I have hit up Michaels at Christmas time... well their after Thanksgiving sales and for me I didn't think anything was on sale good enough to make me face the lines. I use the Michael's 40% off coupons that come pretty regularly in the Sunday paper and get good deals... at my leisure.

We had one open here about a month ago and lucky for me I missed opening day. It was a madhouse. The sale ran for a week and I went the second day. The only thing they ran out of was the kids craft kits. I bought paper like crazy, it was on dirt cheap. Even the scizzors at only 37 cents a pair. I rarely use the fancy scizzors but at that price (only 10% of the original cost) I couldn't let them sit in the store. Ribbon was also dirt cheap, but only one brand. Wait until the next day. The store here did a great job making sure there would be enough stock to last.

I've done Michaels, AC Moore, Best Buy and Circuit City on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
