New LO's added

I worked a make-n-take booth at a Crop For Hope today for a friends relay team. After my booth closed I was able to crop for a while myself. I actually got 5 LO's and a paperbag album done today. I think that might be a record for me. Two of the LO's are in my webshots in Sandy's Album. The Easter 1999 has butterflies made from the Loosie Fibers from Black Dress Designs ironed on a SU butterfly stamp. The sisters LO is of my 3 DD's at oldest DD's wedding. My first use of hinges on a LO. I wish the pic of this LO were better. My middle DD made her own bridesmaid dress and I made the youngest DD's dress.

The layouts are great. By relay, do you mean relay for life? Just wondering. I walked for 13 hours straight for relay for life on april 8th. I had cervical cancer about 8 years ago, and am a survivor. My father is also a survivor, but he did not walk this year because it was supposed to rain (and it did). It was a great time, but how would you have run a booth for it? just wondering. Mel

The relay team did a Crop for Hope to raise funds. They charged $5 per person to get it and then had make-n-take booths set up where scrappers could pay extra for doing LO's, tags, and things like that. They also had a beginners class that was included in the crop fee. I did the butterfly tag, donated the supplies and my time to the event. My grandmother had breast cancer in 75 and survived, she passed away in 92 at the age of 83. My younger DS is also a breast cancer survivor. My oldest DS is a 10 year colon cancer survivor. I support the relay any way I can. Sandy

I personally am glad to hear that you support it. that is very cool that you could support cancer research with scrapping. I wish I could have thought of that, although it was raining and not sure how much we would have been able to raise with the weather. I was told eight years ago that I would not be able to have another child... boy were they wrong. I went against all doctors when my DH wanted to have a child. I figured they were wrong when they said I would be in a wheel chair by the time I was 21 (this was when I was 27 I decided they were soooo off) and that maybe they were wrong about not having another child. Sure enough I found out I was PG about 5 weeks in. I love him and there is no way that I would not have let my decsions down about the fact they told me that I would not have another baby. It took 10 years, but he is here, and he is soooo very loved because of it.

Your layouts look great Sandy! Your Sisters layout is gorgeous with the stamped flowers. (Of course, I am a stamp floozy too, so I might be biased. LOL) I always enjoy seeing your layouts. Looks like the daycare kids had fun with their Easter Egg hunt. (Love the buttons!)

And I saw what you did with your Altoids tin! I must have missed it before, but I saw it now. That is such an ingenious idea to make a game out of your Family Tree.

I love that new stamp set I got frrom SU. They had several for 1/2 price last month and I "invested" some money into their stock...... I'm really into buttons right now. Could be due to the fact I recently inherited my mother's button collection. She said she doesn't know what to do with it so she sent it to me. One of the boxes is the same size as a case of copy paper and the other one is slightly smaller. I don't think I will ever need to buy a button again........ My kids love the game. We've had several discussions about different family members and it's really helping them learn family history. Sandy

Thanks, Judy. Except for making DD the dress, I think I've used the machine more for scrapbooking the past few months. I'm seriously thinking of moving it upstairs to be more accessible. Sandy
