Added new LO's

I just added three new pages to my New Techniques Album. On Mom's Banana Cake I used mica and the 2 page LO Kiefer Farms I used copper tooling to make the metal plates. I also loaded one of my Christmas Card books. It's in the Make-N-Take Album. I put all of my handmade cards in books so they are together - easier to go through to look for ideas. Sandy

HI Sandy,

You are so talented. I'm really impressed. I've been debating whether or not to use mica.

You have some wonderful pages and if it is ok I'd like to scrap-lift a few ideas. Do you use

Sandy! It's always such a pleasure to look at your work! I love the Kiefer Farm LO's. Looks Great :) How does the Mica and Colluzle lettering work? I just saw the Colluzle template for letters in my lss this morning and was considering to buy it, but was'nt sure how it would look. Don't know anything about mica, I'm afraid, but looks and sounds interesting.

Those are truly wonderful Sandy. I really loved the Keifer Farm one. What tools did you use to do the copper?

The idea of creating a book to put all your cards is genious. I will definitely have to do something like that. Thanks for sharing, you are truly an inspiration to us all.

Mica is a mineral made by nature.which can be punched, peeled, stamped and cut.

They have a good article about it on Scraps Ahoy:

Oh what a wonderful site Sandy!!! Thanks for posting it. I would love to try some of that mica, just can't find it local. Guess I'm going to have to order on-line.... there were also many other types of info/ideas from this site. Thanks again.

Whenever I hear about an idea or technique I always check them out. I love the site - the directions are great - I got my mica through the Pinecone Press Book Club, but heard they sell it at Ben Framklin - I don't know how far their stores reach out. Have not seen it at Michaels or Hobby Lobby yet. Sandy .

Wow Sandy! Those are great! I've wanted to experiment with mica, but haven't found any around here. I love all three of those layouts.

We don't have a Ben Franklin around here. (though I do remember shopping with my Grandma in Ames when I was little at a Ben Franklin store)....I'll just have to order on line...sigh, so much for instant gratification!

Great layouts Sandy. I love the Christmas Card book. What a great idea. I may have to scraplift that one to keep all my cards in.

I love your new layouts Sandy! The copper tooling is a great idea, and one I hadn't seen or heard of before. (I'm stashing all these technique ideas to share at a scrapbooking group starting at our church.) The copper looks gorgeous on your family farm pages. How neat to have those old family photos!

Good news Kenda!! There's a Ben Franklin store over close to where DH & I go to church. It's a small building, but I'll be glad to stop by sometime and see what they've got. :-) Go to

and click on stores, then Arkansas. It's the one in Shannon Hills.

We have one too. I was wondering because the store calls itself Craft Depot but the bags say Ben Franklin. I checked out the site and sure enough its the one that I go to. Thanks for posting this :)

We used to have one where I grew up. But it closed a long time ago. Used to go there all the time when I was a kid.
