Finally got some scrapping done

I went to a crop with my scrapbook group and took a class they were offering. We made an altered CD calendar set. I uploaded it in my webshots

2007 LO's Album. Then I met up with some friends last Saturday and we corpped for the evening. I completed one of the Sandal Albums (forgot who posted the site where I saw one of these). It was fun making it, and everyone kept coming by to see how I was doing while I worked on it at the crop. I also completed a LO of our oldest son when he got his drivers license and one of our youngest granddaughter. They are all in the 2007 LO's Album starting with "Our First Driver".

Loved the flip flop album. Your CD Calenders were very neat. Did you use actual cd's and cover them or something shaped like that?

Yes, we used actual cd's for the project. I think they would be great for Christmas presents or teacher's gifts. Sandy

I love the layouts and the flip flop album and the cd's. Do you have a secret to cutting out the circles perfectly round like that?

Most of the paper overlaps and was cut to cover 1/2 the cd at a time. Where there is two types of paper I cut one with a straight edge and the other (bottom) piece overlaped the center so the edge of it was covered by the straight on the center one. It was almost the same way when three sheets were used as they all overlapped. I found it easier to put the glue on the cd and then lay it on the back of the paper, and then cut around the cd itself. Sandy - Love the flip flop album, so cuute! Also love the CD calendar

- had the same thought that those would make great Xmas gifts.

So - I thought I'd take this oppurtunity to tell everyone that we get lots of marketing CDs here at work that usually get tossed - so if anyone wants some for altering - let me know and I'll send them to you for the price of postage. I'd rather see them used for a project then in the garbage!

Glad you got some scrapping done Sandy!

I need to get in gear now!

Sandy, thanks for sharing. I love the flip flop mini album. I had remembered someone had done one also in here. I also love the altered cd calendar. I'm going to nab your idea and make some for Christmas presents. I have a few questions though. Is that just a plate holder, if so where did you get them? Craft store? Second, did you use 12 cd's or 6. I didn't know if you did 1 cd per month or 2 months on one cd. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, it's a plate holder. I used 12 cd's for the project. Glue seems to hold better on the label side of the cd. Sandy

Thanks Sandy. I never would have not thought of the glue holding. I'm glad I asked or I would have probably just used 6.
