Finally some scrapping done

At the beginning of April I went to a crop, then my pages waiting for journalling and my supplies sat unused. At times they called "come play with us" but alas I could not because of other time requirements. Finally, at the end of July I was able to work in the evenings. Then on the last Sunday of July I went to a "Let's get it Done" crop. Four hours of scrapping. I came home with one complete Lo and 7 that needed journalling. It feels so good to be able to do this again. As a bonus I wn a gift certificate at the crop so now I get to go pick out some more fun stuff to play with.

I updated my gallery woth some of my work from those two crops. Some more is waiting to be photographed. We have one week of vacation yet in August then back to routine and back to school at the beginning of September. My youngest starts Kindergarten this year, and I'm still scrapping their baby pics. I best get working on those a little faster.

Thanks Dave. A few of the pics are up the link is in my signature. Motivation wasn't the problem so much as everybody else wanting and needing my time. Well and my garden needing my time while the weather is good. It sure has been nice to have the fresh produce tho.

Congrats on winning the gift certificate! Your newest LOs look great. I have to admit, the Artist Cousins is my favorite. Using the picture as a background was a great idea! You did a great job painting the title, too. Maybe that's what I need, a "Let's get it done" crop! LOL

Kids go back to school August 21 here, 11 more days. DS (youngest) goes to Kindergarten, but was in Pre-K last year. He's still a baby in his album, too! DD (oldest) starts 3rd grade, and I'm still working on her baby pics, too. I've done some newer photos of her, but not much. LOL I need to get my rear in gear!

Thanks. I'm planning to use it once my trip is over. I'm sure I'll have lots of new photos to scrap and there should be some fun new supplies to pick from at the store. Just got an email that some of the fall lines are starting to arrive.

When I first saw the photo I asked DH "uh what were you taking a picture of or did the girls get ahold of the camera?" He said "no I did that on purpose, I liked the lines and the contrast of the red and black". After looking at all the pics I decided that would make a great background. Last year I asked some questions on here for ideas on how to print your own backgrounds, and now I finally got to scrap it.

My DD first day of kindergarten is Sept 7th. My older DD starts on the

31st of Aug. We have a trip planned before that though, that we are all looking forward to. I might even have a chance to check out a LSS or two while on vacation. And my girls are hoping to go to Build-A-Bear.

Good luck on getting some of your photos scrapped. And thanks for looking at my work and commenting.

Very nice layouts. How did you do the one with the faded photo mat? I also like how Victoria wrote her name on her birthday layout, it will be fun to look back in ten years and see how much her handwriting has changed.

Thank you for your comments. For the faded photo mat I faded the photo using GIMP, then had it printed on cardstock at staples in the desired size. It could have been printed at home but I don't have any color ink for my printer. My Dh and I regularily argue about why do we have a color printer but no color ink. So far he has won and I take my color printing elsewhere.

I have kept a sample of each of my DD's printing from when they learned to print their names. It is interesting to see the changes already. I try to do some journalling by hand just so that we will have samples of our handwriting at various times.
