Hi Mary,

And welcome to RCS... you'll get lots of great ideas here and hopefully will share some with us too.

The "ABC's of my life" was a kit Creative Memories had. It came with all the stickers. I made the larger letters for each page myself. I don't remember, but I think the colored strips may have come with the kit too. It had a book for follow and I copied it almost exactly to make this album for my cousin and her baby. I've since used the ABC method to do albums for other babies. It's a fun and easy idea to follow and create a really cute album.

Don't worry about it M-C. I know you've got a lot on your plate. Just concentrate on moving and getting to the Barn. If there is anything I can help you with let me know. In 6 months or so put a call out and we'll all send our stuff in.

This goal sheet has really got me working hard on several of the goals already. I framed the LO and hung it on the wall to remind me every time I'm in the craft room that I have things I want to get done. I've been so lackadaisical about Scrapbooking it's a small wonder why I don't get much done. I see gals with hundreds of pages done a year I'm lucky if I hit 50 and 20 of those where gifts! I talked to my scrapbook bud about both of us being more ready to work when we get together. Seems we frequently organize, sort, or just sit and think about what we want to do rather than doing. I can't find things, because they are piled here and piled there or in drawers out of sight out of mind. So, I'm organizing and this year I want to put a better dent in getting pictures scrap and in a album.

I also started thinking everyone coming to the barn will probably bring an album for people to look at and I feel none of mine are done or have much in them worth looking at. My goal is to get more pages that are done into albums and just get more LO's done. I don't think I'll ever get caught up, but just getting more done is definitely doable!

I never really thought about that......bringing an album...or the fact that an album put together shows a completion to a phase of scrapbooking. I never really put my LO's into albums. I have the albums (empty) on the shelf, but there are only five that actually have LO's in them and are finished so to speak. My Christmas album because I can't get any more LO's in it, Middle DD's baby album, youngest DD's baby album, my GS album, and my childcare album. All the rest of my LO's are stored in 12x12 boxes. I just keep adding LO's to the boxes. I really need to set a goal to put albums together. Sandy

Looks great. I need to do this one. Once you commit a goal to paper it makes it a challenge to meet. Sandy

I viewed your site and came across the ABC's of my life for your child. I LOVE IT! What a grand idea. Where did you come up with the idea? Was this a magazine idea you followed?

Thanks,

Great LO, Lynne. I wish you the best as you work to meet these goals. I know writing mine down helped me to focus on them. I really like the scissors across the page.

That's me exactly Sandy. I didn't even know where half my completed LO's were. Then I found an album box ( in a drawer) of completed LO's. I so enjoyed looking through them and thought hey if these were in an album others could enjoy them too. Like my family! haha

The scissors were so fun to make. They are the size of the real scissors and I can't tell you how many times I picked them up to do some cutting before I had them adhered to the LO. It was so funny!

I really like your layout Lynne. I love the scissors, they look so real. Did you paint the background paper? I like the way it looks.

I need to sit down and work on both the January & February challenges.

I did paint the background. I wanted to do a quick LO and finding paper to match my photo seemed daunting at that point (you know us paper floozies) and my paints were right there! The scissors did indeed look real, because I picked them up several times to cut with them. hahaha. Was glad when I finally adhered them and the confusion was over.
