Re: Michaels Flyer

I am wondering if anyone out there knows when or if the Michaels flyer still appears in Winnipeg. It used to regularly come in the Saturday Free Press, but since last June I have not seen it except for Boxing Day. When I come in from out of town, it is nice to know what is on sale and whether it is worth my while to stop in, and then of course, there is that 40% off coupon!!! Helen

I've found them more and more often in the daily newspaper in the style (or whereever the comics/horoscopes/Dear Abby live in the paper). Cheaper ads, being outside the front portion of the paper and B&W rather than color.

That's basically what's happening here as well. I haven't paid too much attention to the ads, but I think they have a separate flyer every couple of weeks and a small ad inside the paper on the off weeks.

I did subscribe to their newsletter, which they don't seem to send on a regular basis. The last couple of them that I received have been laid out much more professionally and I suppose they're trying to upgrade the website. So far you can read the ad for your particular zip code, but there haven't been any on line coupons.

You might want to look at their website and see if you can get any more information directly from them.

They don't do online coupons, but ours has recently started accepting competitor's coupons again. You can get a Hobby Lobby one and use it at Michaels.

Does Hobby Lobby have the coupons on line? I have none in my area.

Thanks. I signed up for their weekly newsletter. Now, since the closest Hobby Lobby is about 4 hours North of here as the crow flies., I hope I can remember to ask them in Michaels if they will accept the coupon. Lucille

The framing department at a local Michael's had a sign out recently that said they honor JoAnn framing coupons, so that likely means they'll take the merchandise coupon's from JoAnn's too.

Here in E. Tennessee, it seems like the craft stores have gone to a bi-weekly or monthly glossy ad complete with coupons that have a 2 week or longer expiration date. I'm not sure what HobbyLobby's policy is, but Joanne's, Michaels and AC Moore accept each others' coupons.

I live in Grand Forks, just south of you. There was a Michael's ad in last week's Sunday paper. Reading the other messages, it must be up to the newspaper and the local Michael's as to when they publish them. Maybe a call to the advertising dept of the WFP might be in order. :)

P.S. How's the water situation up there? I just heard they raised the crest at Pembina. :(

I'm not sure about when the flyers are sent out because I don't get the paper but if you register with their web site,

they will email you when the new flyers are available online. You can "flip" through them to see if there is anything good, and if there are coupons, you can print them. The bonus is that their class lists are on the web site, too, so maybe you can find an art or craft you want to try while you're in the store.

Michael's hasn't changed ownership, by the way. They are a public company so if you have spare change you can buy their stock and become an owner of sorts yourself.

Have fun!

I get the Michaels newsletter, and I can flip through the ads, but I can't print the coupons at all. Maybe that's different for different locations.

Who has spare change after coming out of Michaels?

We had a flyer on Sunday with two coupons: 50% off any one item on Friday or 30% off your total on Saturday. You don't have to puzzle too hard to figure out which I thought was the better deal. :)

I came home with all the fibers needed for two new projects and some yarn.

Should add to my SigFile: Started this afternoon "Delicate Irises", Cross Stitch Collection magazine, April 2006 issue

Here in Steinbach the water level is fine and I wouldn't mind some rain to wash away the winter grime. However, Highway #75 is closed, I believe from the US border to Winnipeg and apparently the Red River is

15 km. wide in places. I haven't seen the water for myself, except in Winnipeg. We enjoy walking along the Assiniboine and Red Rivers along a walkway, but each spring it is under many feet of water. Thanks to all for your input. I had asked at the Michaels store and the clerk was most unsure. I tried emailing Michaels but got no reply., Not living in Winnipeg city limits, I guess I won't be seeing those flyers. Oh well, just think of all the money I am saving by not buying anything at all. Helen
