OT: I am a sucker!!!!

Just wanted to let you all know that I really got sucked in tonight! lol Went to a Stampin Up party that I really didn't want to go to since I knew I'd walk away spending a bundle. Well..........I went because I had committed to it and I did have a good time but I also spent money that I swore I would not spend on rubber stamps! Why did I not want to buy them????? Because I haven't used the ones that I bought at the last party I went to! LOL Soooooo, about $45 later, I am home....still all wound up from a really hectic day at work and I am trying to find a way to unwind so I can get some sleep then get back into the office early tomorrow! lol

I did learn a cool trick tonight about mounting those stamps............don't mount them in the center as so many people do.........if you are right handed, mount them in the right corner of the block so that you can use the edge of the block as a guide.

Have a great night! Susan

Thanks for the tip Susan.... I never would have thought of it. I've actually been scared to go to a Stampin' Up party... Actually... been looking into having one. That would be better, eh?

Oh Susan! Thanks for the tip! I have two sets of stamps I've not mounted yet from my last order. Good advice!

Thanks for the tip. If you have stamps that are already mounted, you can put them in the microwave for a few seconds, this allows you to remove the rubber and reposition it.

I also had a part had done very well with it.

Robin,

If you are anything like me, you won't succeed!!! I signed up after buying Stampin' Up for 6 years. My demonstrator quit and I HAD to have a "fix". LOL Good luck with your venture!!!

Jenn....I'm trying to resist the urge to have a Stampin Up party too. All the free stuff sounds neat but I just don't need another hobby! Heck, I havn't got time for the one I have now! lol But............I think you should go for it...they are a lot of fun as long as you have a good demonstrator. S

thank you for the reminder. I remember hearing this at a prior party I attended but I can't remember how long to nuke them for. Knowing my luck....I'll end up melting them! lol S

Good luck to you Robin! I hope you do well with it! I understand SU has a great deal being offered on their kit right now. I've been to a couple SU parties...One was just OK....demonstrator showed lots of what she had done but we only did one project (a card) and the idea wasn't all that creative. The one last night was great! The demonstrator has been doing SU for 5 years and she was full of ideas, knew her products and showed us how we could use the products in our scrapping as well. Be versatile and energetic...you'll do well. S

I have a great SU demonstrator who is a good friend, would rather lend me hers than have me buy. But I went through and unmounted all my stamps and now use acrylic blocks to stamp and it has really encouraged me cause no matter how much I used the guides it still came out off center or crooked. Now I can see through the acrylic and it is much more fun for me. Also, storage is more efficient. I find that I use stamping stuff more and more in SB for embellishing or backgrounds, it saves me money.

Everytime I say I won't buy too much, I always end up doing so. My sister and I split the cost of the stamps though so it isn't that bad. I mostly use mine for making cards. Thanks for the trick about mounting the stamps.
