Just to let any interested people know...

My sister-cousin Linda passed away today!

I just received a phonecall from Liam (Linda's son) who told me that his mother passed away today at 12:25 PM. I am heartbroken, but I know it is a blessing that she is no longer in pain. The service will be held on Friday in Toronto, but as much as we want to we cannot afford to make the 3 - 4 hour trip. We have exactly $25 left to get gas for Matthew to go to work for *one* day (tomorrow), and no more money at all until the end of the month. I am just so very happy that we were able to go and have a nice visit with Linda a couple of weeks ago. Please say a prayer for Linda's final journey!

*hugs* Gemini (I only came back to post this message)

My sympathies to you and your family in your time of grief. When my uncle passed away, I wasn't able to attend, but I had been to see him 2 months before and got to visit while he was still alive. I think it meant more.

Dear Gemini! This must have been very hard for you! I guess we "understand" when our parent-generation dies. But when we loose someone from our own generation, it is very different, and when it is someone who is SO close as a sister, it is very difficult to cope with! My warm thoughts, Gemini!! hugs, Aud

Hello-- My newsgroup connection wasn't working for about 3 months; and now I just got the posts and----------- I am sending my sympathy to you G; as I have just lost my younger sister only 3 wks. ago! So I can relate. It is so difficult. I have been knitting quite alot, just to stay busy and not think too much. We had a wonderful ceremony and threw a wreath into the Pacific ocean with flowers that each person had placed in it. Best to you and nice to be with the 'group' again, Merri

Thanks so much Mirjam; Yes, I have good memories--mostly when we were younger. As she grew older, she couldn't cope with alot of her problems and turned to prescription drugs. Our family tried everything we could to help her, and to get help for her, but she eventually went downhill and got worse. I had knitted some socks for her once that she really liked, and also a hat out of eyelash yarn. Although she was just 53 yrs. old, I'm glad she is finally at peace. Merri
