I belong to a chapter of the Arizona Quilters Guild (which has over 2500 members and about 40 chapters.) A couple of weeks ago one of our chapter members passed away. Linda Callahan was a wonderful quilter/appliquer and such. She had been invited, more than once to participate in the Fairfield Fashion show and even sold some patterns at one time. Today at our chapter business meeting we had a sort of "Remembrance" and people were asked to bring any of Linda's quilts they had. (She gave away a lot of quilts, donated some to various auctions and so on.) Someone walked over and gave me a ziploc bag with a quilt top in it that had a note with my name on it. It was the top that Linda had made from the 4-month "Block of the month" that I did for the group. I was/am stunned. She did a beautiful job of the quilt and someday I will have to quilt it. I am honored and moved that she thought to see that I got it.
We will all miss Linda.
