That was me LOL, I was just wondering how hurricanes were named and who named them.
Regarding hurricane names Patty asked:
I was retired in 1983. "I" did a lot of damage (one of the 31 costliest storms) in north Texas.

And in SE TX! Our bulkhead washed away along with a significant portion of our backyard, most of the boats in the marina washed into yards and several ended up in the clubhouse swimming pool. My sister was home alone (in her
20s) and had to take care of things by herself as my folks were sitting with me while I gave birth in another state. But Allison (or was it Alison?) was the one that really beat up SE TX bad -
3 feet of rain. The images are still nightmarish for me. Roads truly did become rivers - deep enough to hide 18-wheelers. 2001 was a bad year all around.okay I'm complaining.. .my husband got one but I didn't! LOLOL... (i know, odd name... but I've seen odder ones!)

I remember Hurrican Allison. My husband had a business trip to New Orleans and asked me to come along for the ride. I was SO excited. My folks took the kids. It was just me and hubby... alone... on a trip... sleeping on the floor of the Houston Airport for 3 days. HA! Ironic thing is my daughter didn't want me to go and gave the most fuss.... and who gives us trouble on the trip Hurricane Allison... my daughter's name... Allison. I bought a paper so I could use the headline in album.

We were on vacation. Down to see the new Disneyworld. One good thing about the hurricane is it chased away the Disneyworld goers. We had a wonderful day in a nearly deserted park.
Yeah we did that in San Antonio one year. It was raining steady and we were at sea world. Almost deserted for us too. Plus lugging a huge gigantic stuffed COW i won from the back of the park to the front of the park while it was raining was sure fun.....then trying to stuff it in the blazer I had at the time!...whew!! I have been in an earthquake, and a semi flood(my car got flooded and the streets were flood for about 6 hours till the water went down!
