OT: Need Creative/inexpensive ideas

That's a cute idea Jean! Both of them!!!! I'll have to see what the other lady says.....

All I can think of is a country picnic theme. You can use those red w/ white checkered table cloths.

The centerpieces can be watermelons with flowers stuck in to them or you can make those baskets out of them and the guests can eat the watermelon balls out of them.

or

Garden theme - small watering cans with flowers

or

Nature outdoorish theme

Potted herbs plants, tea lights, pebbles , water fountain

or

ocean theme

glass votives with light blue candles and a little sand on the table with some shells and starfish.

or

victorian theme

use mauve candles and pearls , hang pearls from fireplace

okay and I just thought of another thing you can do......

You can put pictures of the retirees on the tables from when they served and from now then the guests and guess who? Just put the pictures in frames from the dollar store . Sort of like a CLUE game maybe have some magnifying glasses......
