OT: Parents who enable

Hi.

My folks are down to spoil my sister and the baby but won't be down long enough to celebrate my Birthday in May.

Happily they provided me with a ton of gifts and a portable sewing machine to learn sewing layouts. A hand held unit. And a Slab V pack of paper and 100s of blank cards to play with and 2000 pieces of cream/white/black cardstock.

Yippee. Now about sewing what does one do with it?

I love to sew on my LO's.Sometimes I just sew on the mats for photos, or flowers onto the page, or just zigzag lines across the page. Good luck. I just love a new technique or challenge. Sandy

Oh I love your parents! :-) It's great that they're enabling you. Have we rubbed off on them, or is this a usual thing for them?

I'm sure you'll have fun sewing once you start.

I love handi sewing on my pages, but I've not tried machine sewing yet. (Maily because DD borrowed my machine & has yet to return it)(LOL)

Sounds like you had a great birthday in advance:>)

You've seen this layout before, but thought I would show it again since I sewed the heck out it. I did however use a regular machine. The lace is sewed on to the background material and then the two are sewed on to the paper. The fushia ribbon is sewed on to the pictures as a trim, and also around each little bear (which are fabric leftovers from a quilt) The Fabric is first xyroned to cardstock. Then each bear frame is sewed on to the paper. Guess I just went sew crasy, LOL!

I would like to try this but I'm afraid it would damage my machine. Will it?

I do remember that they had us sew on paper when we learned to sew in Home Ec.
