OT: Where are you going for Thanksgiving

Lynne, we were supposed to host the family here for Christmas...the hardwood floors would be in, our new dining set bought and set up...well, that didn't work out. We now are in the process of removing our deck from the house, (which we just built 2 years ago) in order to replace all of the rotten wood that we found while trying to replace our french doors...which had to happen before we could do the rest of the floors...hopefully next holiday season we will be done. Ack. Arleen

I think this is a great one Sabrina! It sounds like the one I made last year and it was gone!

We are going to my brother's house where he is having seafood again. I am planning to take some more traditional items because I enjoy the 2 times of the year that we get to have turkey or ham and giblet gravy and mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole and green beans and dinner rolls and pumpkin pies and pecan pies and coconut pies - need I go on? Last year Hannah busted her mouth on the trampoline and my cousin got drunk and showed his butt. He's not invited this year and Hannah has learned to be more careful:))

Well at least last year was eventful! LOL Hope this year is a little bit quieter, though.

Oh Arleen! I feel your pain. My house is still looking worse and worse each day, but I keep telling myself it will look fabulous when they are done. They are now replacing windows that I did have planned to replace. I guess I had no concept how much destruction goes on around a project.

Thanks for the recipe Sabrina! One question...what is self rising flour?

AmyScott

It is flour that has soda and bakingpowder in it already. The bag will say self-risng. :-)

Thanks Arleen! Everybody here (not that there're that many of us) seems to be on the outs w/ each other this year. It's just a mess w/ my niece and her mom and it effects all that are around them. I'm not doing too bad, but I can tell that my mother is a little depressed over it all. She really likes to do up for Christmas and isn't even sure if she wants a tree this year.

Katrina.....all the more important that you and your mom do something special. A small tree, etc. We've got to perk her up a little. Hugs S

Thanks Susan! Actually, we've already got the Christmas lights up on the house. The house will be festive inside and out, just not sure sure about the residents.
