OT: You are NOT going to believe this, just my luck!, warning long and ranting!!!

It will work out eventaully Sabrina. But right now it's like beating my head against a wall. The really infurating part is this "health care" is part of my salary, I pay for this. I don't have a choice it who the provider is though.

Thanks Tabitha, though I am of the opinion you have your hands full with Tabby so sick. How's she doing?

Thank you Cathy. I'm sure it will be taken care of soon, just not soon enough. I am documenting. After I'm recoperated I'm going to war. All of central Arkansas will know what type of heath care or lack there of the City of North Little has force upon it's employees while the mayor was head of this health care provider. They messed with the wrong woman. (hear me ROAR!! lol )

(Looking around for that other beaded sandle I didn't throw at Dave last night) Things will work out but it's just SO typical for me. I am so frustrated! Alan is stressed He has been making some phone calls today as well. I think now his prime mission is just to keep my stress level down. I need a scrapbook store fix......

I remember how bad cysts on the ovaries were. I'd had a tubal in 92 after youngest DD was born and in Nov 95 had radioactive iodine therapy for graves disease. The cysts started hurting in Jan of 96 and I was finally approved for surgery in late may after having lots of tests and a catscan. When the surgeon had me go in for an ultrasound the first week of June before surgery the next week they found out I was pregnant. Talk about a shock.... Then no doctor would take me because I was considered high risk. No one wanted to touch a 42 year old pregnant woman with cysts, cat scans at 11 weeks, and graves disease. My family doctor called several obgyns before finding one who would take me, but he was 50 miles away and I just barely made it to the hospital with the other three. I finally talked to a doctor 22 miles away who agreed to take my case. She was wonderful. Pulled lots of strings and got the insurance co to do whatever she wanted. I had to have bloodwork, stress tests and an ultrasound every week during the pregnancy. The insurance co we have now never gives us a problem over doctors and tests, but they are a b*** when it coume to medication. I didn't know an insurance co could decide what kind of medicine a person can take (one that they are willing to pay for). That was an eyeopener. Sandy

I would keep calling back each and every time they hung up on me and keeping a log of the time so you can hand it to your attorney and your doctor as proof.

Actually my HMO was closed to the public but because I worked in Advertising I made up a story that I was dropping off papers for signature for a bulletin board advertising campaign "Your HMO and You, a great team for your health" was the slogan. Stupid Huh.

Oh well, I hope Kenda you get your surgery. Maybe you can get your gallbladder put in formaldhyde and you can ship it to your "case worker" as a thank you for the problems.

LOL, Kate

Sounds like you went through a mess as well!

We are also highly regulated as to what meds we can get and not. only 15 sleeping pills in a month. Never mind when I have insomia I'm awake for months on end, just as an example....

Kenda,

Don't even get me started on the medicine limitations. My husband's insurance has decided that my "psychotropic" drugs (for my panic attacks due to 9-11-01) are not necessary and have decided to stop covering them.

My physician, psychologist, husband and parents all called the insurance company to say that the drugs are needed.

I called while being off the drugs a week and called to "inquire" when I would get my drugs. The rep said that I would have to calm down before she would deal with me. I told her this is as calm as I get OFF THE DRUGS. She said that she would have to discuss it with my senior case worker and would get back to me in a few days.

Lets put it this way between the 5 of us we filled both their voicemails until I got my 30 day supply with note stating that they will "take exception to my case" and that they were "sorry for the trouble the misunderstanding this situation may have caused."

Who says New Yorkers can't be pushy.

I hope everything goes well. And if your "case worker" has voice mail I'd start flooding it so when he/she/it comes back he/she/it has 1,000s of messages from you, your doctor, and/or husband.

Kate

Oh I so know this story.. I'm so sorry you have to go through it too.... they put 190 lbs on me in 9 months due to steroids from the cancer... and now won't pay to help me get it off. So I'm unable to work but of course SSI says I am (oh yeah, with all the limitations I have someone is SURE to hire me.. *sigh*).... I hate this stuff... my doctor said she is to the point she justs wants socialized medicine so they can actually treat their patients again!

I pray peace and painloss and a quick resolution!

Kenda...I am so sorry you are having a hard time over getting your = ailment sorted out. This is just awful to have to deal with when you are = sick and in pain!!! Best wishes in getting the help you need promptly = and be glad you don't live in the UK with hospital waiting lists of 9 = months or more!!! I think I preferred the system we had in Australia = before they introduced the Medibank system...I hear that has affected = medical care also.
