Sounds like you showed her! lol I filled all the voicemail boxes yesterday and will do so again this morning.
You go Kenda!! I'll cheer you on all the way, too. By chance, which insurance company is this? I want to stay away from whomever it is. When DH was with DIS, there were several choices for health insurance, which was nice because we didn't feel forced into using whomever they picked. It sounds like NLR needs to seriously rethink their health insurance company, or at least give the city employees a choice of health insurance companies!
If you find a decent carrier, where there is no record of anything like this happening, be sure to let us all know. Insurance is the scourge of medicine!
Oh my goodness!!! I'm not sure of what to say so I'll say some prayers for you.
Sorry they are still giving you the run around. Don't they understand you can't work till the problem is solved. I hope you can approval through the channels you are taking.

Unless your hubby is employeed by a city he won't be forced to take this. It's called Municipal Benefit Management of Arkansas. The employees at one time had a choice of 3 insurance co. Then our esteemed mayor was appointed president of the board for Municipal and he forced all the employees to take it. hmmmm sounds like conflict of interest to me.
lol Thanks Tabitha. I think it will be approved once the surgeon talks with the medical director. I am of the opinion that they deny anything that isn't "emergent" and then approve those that are pushed by the physicans. Sad but true.
They don't care Teresa. They keep telling my I can go back to work, and I keep telling them I don't have an office job, I have a physical job. And I have been off so long that after 3 shifts being off I have to have a fitness for duty physical. No one is going to pass me. They just don't care, it's all about their bottom line. $$$$$
I hope you doctor can get this done soon. I wonder if they would tell the fire people in their home town to work when they are ill. It would place not just you, but your fellow firefighters and the people you are trying to help for you to try to work with a bad gall bladder. If it was them or their house at risk, you can bet they would have already approved you weeks ago. I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope the doctor can get some sense through to them.

Oh goodness.. I think if it hurts bad enough its an emergency... my opinion... I pray its approved.
My point exactly Teresa! It will happen, just have to wait. I don't like waiting! Shouldn't have to. Ah, this too shall pass.
I agree, if you are in pain, it should be taken care of quickly. You have a good attitude through this though.

Oh that bites. Definately sounds like a conflict of interest to me. Ok, so mental note...don't let DH work for city of NLR.
Yep, or any of them, they all use the same.
I have only read parts but heres what I'd Do... File for separation(cheap) and go get on a district clinic type program or welfare hospital program... Live with M-C till its done...LOL Go to the emergency room complaining of back pain and tell them it is you gall-bladder. Your gallbladder makes you sick and nauseaeted if you eat and inkling of fat! One morning I had 2 powered dounuts from a pack and then a sip of soda and that started my Friday before the MOnday surgery. I went to the hospital that night and told them it was my gallbladder. They stuck mye in a room with an IV till mondays surgery and then i was in there 5 days. I had the 5" incision that is why the long stay. One yr later a friend got the easy 4 tiny holes and was out in 48 hrs.

Sounds like a plan April!!! Though don't know if M-C has room for all my stuff! LOL
Always room here for you, don't you know!
M-C (besides you should see all the neat craft stuff KEnda has...hmmmmmmmm)
In the next few days I'm gonna make something with the book binding tape we bought! We need to go to the scrapbook outlet and see if we can find more stuff! ROFL
Oh my Goodness Kenda! I would have given up on that insurance a long time ago! Hang in there! Thinking and praying for you.
