Power LO's are the way to go!!!

That's why I hadn't been able to get anything accomplished! LOL I put together a layout and then before I start attaching everything I start changing my mind. lol If I'm not home with all my goodies then I can't change....

Way to go Tracy!! I just needed to get some done. After all as a floozy I needed to justify to myself why I buy all that I do!

It was me! Did y'all see that she called me a lady? hehe

I LOVE Power Layout! I just ordered the Power Sort and hope to make my life even easier. As for the "not so sure about this PL thing" people... This is how the whole PL thing has changed me and NO, it's not the exact way that CM wants it used, but that's okay. I am using it the way that is best for me. I used to store ALL my paper over here and ALL my stickers over there and ALL my diecuts in this spot and ALL my frames in that spot and...get the idea? Now I started sorting stuff with other stuff similar. It makes more sense for me to store my paper all together, but I have it sorted by color, subject, etc. When I sort embellishments, I sort them with other stuff like them. As an example, I am not very likely to ever use fish stickers and Christmas stickers in the same layout so why have them together? I started sorting ALL Christmas stuff together, but still have the Christmas paper over with the other paper. So, when I am going to a crop I go through my pictures before leaving, which I hope y'all all do (do you take ALL your pictures???). No extra work with that. Then I look at what pages I'll be working on. Since I am NOWHERE near caught up like some of y'all, I can work on whatever I want to (have PLENTY to do! LOL). Let's pretend I'm not behind and I have just returned from vacation. Okay, I have 20 pictures from DisneyWorld. I've got my divider thingies all over my dining table so I start grouping the pictures by what's alike (3 from this ride, 2 with characters, etc.). Now I look at the amusement park embellishments and see which ones I have that go with those. Here is a sticker of Robin Hood and I have a picture of me with Prince John so let's put that over with that picture and so on. I end up with 6 pages so I stack those in my PL box thingy then I look at the other vacation photos. It really isn't more work than if I was packing up for a crop before PL, BUT this way I don't carry everything I have and get nothing done! I know other stuff can be used, but I like using this system. The box is super sturdy with that stretchy cord thing to hold the lid down and they even sell an extra set of those dividers if you are brave enough to think you will use more than the 15 it comes with (go for it!). As I've said before, I do NOT sell CM. In fact, I am a Demonstrator for a company with many competitive products (PL is not one of them). I highly recommend this product. I can't remember the price, but it was definitely worth whatever it was that I paid. They now have a Power Sort thingy that holds all your pictures. I ordered that at Croptoberfest and hope to get it soon.

Wow. I have a hard time getting 6 pages done on a good day. I might have to try this power layout thing I keep hearing everyone talking about. BUT what I want to know is where you work at that you can scrapbook during the day. I want a job like that. LOL

Cecelia,

The Power Sort thingy is awesome. I really want to get it but I have the picture box thingy from Cropper Hopper. I need to figure out what to do with it first. The Power Sort box is cool because it's a big box with small file like boxes in it and you can take them out and put them in a small Power sort box . The small Power Sort box is for the pictures you working on. I like this because that is what I do already. I take the pictures I'm going to work on next and I put them in a small picture file thingy.

Oh and that is a great idea for how you are sorting your sticker and paper. Good idea. I will have try it.

WTG Kenda!! Can't wait to see those layouts. Hmm...maybe this idea would help me get further in this memory album for my parents.

I like that idea!! I would hate to move back to LR and then you move away.

If need be, we'll just chain them down Kenda. Or we could do like my Dad threatened to do when DH & I moved away from NM, lay down in front of the moving truck. I think we would lose our shirts if we opened our own store. (Or at least I would, 'cause I would buy more than the customers! LOL

One tweek I've done with power layouts is this: I don't "plan out the whole layout" as I go. I crop my pictures and sort the ones I want to use. If there is paper, die cuts, stickers that I want to use, then I will put them with the layout to use later. But I really try to work very quickly. Then later I can pull out one layout at a time to complete. This too is as quick as possible. I try not to spend too much time debating things. I'll use an idea book but I will change it as needed.

One success for me was this, I went to one crop and did the power layouts for 30 pages. The pictures were cropped and a general layout was determined. I did not add paper yet. Then the next week I sat down at 3 different times and finished the pages. It was only about one hour at each sitting but I finished every page except for the journaling. I was pretty proud and excited to get all that done.

But of course I called you a lady!! you haven't thrown anything at me yet!! heehee.... I really liked the idea of the power LO's even though I don't have an offical "power layout sorter thingy"....

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply, I've been sick for a few days and didn't even get out of bed....

I work at a fire department. I am a firefighter and sometimes our days can be really long if there isn't anything going on. So long as we've done our daily station cleanup, checked all our equipment, done maintenance, completed our daily exercise, as well as studied the rest of the shift is ours to do as we please, for the most part. Keep in mind that we work a 24 hr shift, so we also shop for groceries and fix meals together.

I'd lose all my clothes as I'd be buying everyting in teh store!

Kenda with no clothes....that's just a picture I don't want to see!!! *runs & hides*

now that just wasn't nice Deb! Just for that I'll be lobing the beaded sandle at ya just as soon as I can find it!
