Rain rain go away!

I took these pictures today here in Calgary. (with the exception of the very first one, which I took a year ago). It's been raining seven straight days. Just when it looks like it'll stop, a wind picks up and a downpour starts over again. The rivers are getting higher and higher and there is a flood warning for southern Alberta. I feel like a duck.........

Can you send some (not a lot) down south? We're so dry here right now I can't even pull weeds in the flower beds and part of the back play area is a dust bowl. Sandy in Southern Indiana

It's amazing - I am in Edmonton - just up the road from Calgary and we have been watching the weather on the news - even Red Deer 90 minutes away, they have heavy rain, but although they have forecast rain every day for us for the last week, it hasn't rained once!! We could do with a little of it here as the grass is so dry already - but we don't want much!!

I hope you stay safe - but I must admit (being an Edmontonian lol) we have all been up here gloating about the fact that Calgary is awash!!!! For once we have better weather than you!!!! ;)

Wow what alot of water! Be careful with all that rain. Don't try to cross water that is flowing across a road.

Uggggh, Cleo. that's alot of rain. We were in Brandon for the weekend and it is flooded there and we just heard today that the river here is going to rise a whole bunch because of the rain in Alberta. So there are flood warnings for parts of 3 provinces. When we were travelling in S. Sk on the way home there was more water around than usual. And it started raining again here. We seem to get a bunch of weather from Calgary and I'm not looking forward to days of rain. Here's hoping and praying you get sun soon.

I've had them here already, but lost the pictures so I wasn't able to scrapbook them. It was actually raining the day I took them out to see the town. LOL

We're up on high ground here. I don't live too far from an area that had major flooding about 17 years ago. We thought we were on high ground until a bad storm dumped a ton of rain on us in 20 minutes and we ended up with 4 feet of water in our basement, and people canoeing down our street. The city put in a bunch of 'dry ponds' and upgraded the sewer system so that they can take all the water from a major storm. But the areas close to the river can't be helped by those dry ponds. All they can do is fill sandbags and hope for the best.
