Re: How do u store your supplies?

I have a TON of stuff.. I use the CM totes (the little zippered pouches) for my punches.. all of them.. toss them in a bag and go.. I'm starting to preplan for crops (too much stuff otherwise) and I have a cm wheeled tote and bag for that.. I have tiny drawers for my word and letter beads, a plastic tote for wire stuff, and about 10 one gallon rubbermaid tubs (little ones, really cute!) with labels like "embellishments, tags, paints, beads, punchies, extra wire, misc, diecuts... I have a hanging file crate (milk crate type) for my cardstock and scrap paper... I DID have generations 12x12 totes for my

12x12 paper but they died quickly (and I returned them and got a scrapfolio in return.. fine for preplanning but not storage) so I'm going to get the cropper hopper for the 12x12 paper. I have a "x" pen holder for pens and markers (and easy to pack or dump for a crop) I have watchmakers tins for eyelets and brads, and some plastic drawers for inkpads and misc supplies.. and my stamps are hung on the wall in a printers tray. most of all of the misc stuff and tubs are on a 29 dollar shelf from value city.. LOL... I have alot, but I am the queen of the 50% off coupon! (now when joanns sends me another I can get the cropper hopper.. LOL) I just used the last one on the fiskars 12 inch rotary trimmer. Oh, my sizzix dies are stacked on another desk with my sizzix... and I have a pencil cup for my scissors and rulers, and my CM cutting system is on the wall hanging from mug hooks... all my stickers and templates are in the CM accessory binder.. when it gets full, I RAK or force myself to use what I have. LOL.. and I have two iris carts full of misc... *WHEW*

Holey Moley April!

While I know I'm a comparative newbie/lightweight in regard to my scrapping obsession, that pic makes me look like I haven't even begun and I thought I had gone a bit overboard. I bow to a master!

What a great set-up you have!

Here's how I store my stuff: I have a 4-drawer small clear plastic container, about 8 inches wide and very deep. The top one holds pens, ink pads, chalk, etc. The second holds scissors, cutters, and punches. The next holds all my adhesives and Undo. The last one has rulers, glitter, beads, Tidy Tray, and other miscellaneous. I also have a large 2-drawer clear plastic container that can hold 12x12. The top drawer holds extra pages, page protectors, and my CM cutting patterns. The bottom drawer holds some new albums, my CM Sidekick, my CM square punch, and other misc.

I have a tote for all my plain 12x12 paper, filed by color family. My patterned paper is in a box until I get another tote. All my scrap paper is filed in a CM FileMate, grouped by color. This is also where I keep my

8.5x11 paper. Another FileMate holds all my paper piecings and themed items. In my CM accessory binder I have neatly labeled all the different protectors so items are grouped by theme: stickers, die cuts, fibers, punchies, sticker strips, etc.

As for crops, I find what works the best is to gather together all the things I think I will need for each page, and put them in my CM tote. Whatever I don't use can be put back when I get home.

I got a few sets of watchmaker parts cases from Lee Valley. I was amazed at how much less they cost here than in scrapbook catalogs. They are the small, round, aluminum boxes with glass lids. They come in a pastboard box or a hinged aluminum case. The 33 mm with 40 to a case, and the 53 mm with 15 to a case come in the same size cases and stack well. I filled them, labeled the front and stacked them on a shelf. I use them for eyelets, beads, buttons, wire, brads, etc. They really keep all those small things contained in a compact area. Peggy

A great thing to get or try for punches, and other stuff een, is one ofthose multi-drawer organizing units. Go to the tool - hardware section at Wal-mart, Home-Depot, your hardware store and look at all the different ones available. Hobby obby aso has one. Anyhow look at one with a combination of size drawers. I have a 18 dawer one and even large punches work in it, plus room in the same drawer for the small one that matches it. Some of the drawers have partitions in it that makes them wonderful for stamps. I got mine at a wholesale tool store. Heck if ya'll ladies look i your dh's shop, garage, closet you might find one that he "used/uses" for screws, nails or junk that you can re-appropriate!!! With the drawers it keeps the dust off of them and when I go cropping or rather soeone else's house I take ones I MAY want!!! As far as that goes, if I want punches or stamps, I do iyt befor I crop or on the page after I finished putting pix on them. That way I don't have to take those added things!

As far as he comment on not being tempted when going shoppng - LOL!!! (especially being a lady (wink!))

Gina...I keep my punches in a rubbermaid container. they are tucked away but all in 1 place so I can take them with me if I'd like...usually I don't drag them with me though....too heavy and I'm selective about who I let use them because they can get damaged so easily. I've ruined several punches myself and it's really frustrating! S
