Well I got back - eventually. The weekend was terrific.
Got there bright and early Saturday morning registered and found space at one of the cropping tables. The crop room was nice and big and light and there was plenty of room for everyone. There was a sizzix and sidecut and even PCs and photo printers which you could use for free!
I met up with another girl who lives in the same town as me, we met on a bulletin board the week before but didnt know each other before. It was nice finding someone local. It turned out we had all the same classes so we palled up for the weekend.
Most of the classes were just here's a kit this is how you make it kind of things and didnt really teach techniques whcih would have been my preference. One did teach basic distressing which was fun though. My favorites taught you how to make a flag book and another how to make a little folding zigzag book using some paper especially printed for it so it came out on the right bit of the pages - but you could use plain paper and make your own version. I have really tiny photos printed out for these books since the pages are only 2 or 3" square. When I get sorted out more I'll post piccies of the stuff I did on my website.
There were competitions for LOs using particular ranges of papers which were available in the shop upstairs. The quality of work done by the attendees was really high, almost made me feel like giving up
I managed to finish 6 LO's over the weekend and start 3 more so I was feeling quite pleased until the winner was announced - she had managed
21 LOs over the weekend I can only assume she didnt sleep at all!The on the way home I got lost instead of taking 1.5 hours it took me
4!!! I am so bad at navigatingOh and I am signed up for my first Circle Journal too so I have to run off now and make a book for it. :0)
