Oh that's too funny. My kids love to squish pennys and I just hate spending

51 cents to do it, but I let them do it every now and then. Then I find them laying around the house for the rest of the year.

We have a little book that they go in and we find that if we do a few of those at an amusement park or whatever, the couple of bucks we spend is WAY less than all that crap they sell in the gift shops!! LOL...

Squished pennies YEAH - Living IN FL makes it easy - Disney, Universal and Islands of Adventure have the machines all over the parks - I started a collection of Universal Squished pennies about 2yrs ago. Have a lot to get yet to fill my book up!

i'm the penny pincher and keeper! lol...i started collecting them because i like the price (51 cents!) the size (keep in your pocket) and the scrapability (you ALL understand that one). i thought they made a perfect souvenir! cute link, thanks for sharing! lori shay louisville

Hi Shaz,

Well, yes and no... It depends on how you look at it. Pennies don't buy much (and it has even been considered just removing them from the monetary system) and squished pennies are a souvenir type thing... Where I live (San Antonio, TX) you can get squished pennies at the two major theme parks we have and down at our Riverwalk (which is a big tourist attraction). They take the pennies, put them into a machine and the machine presses them out flat with an image pressed into them. Sometimes they put a hole in them so you can wear them, sometimes not. So, depending on why you value them, whether as spendable cash or as a souvenir item, they're either ruined or a treasure :)

I come from a family of squished penny enthusiasts...we all love squishing those things, and as someone said, it is a much smaller and cheaper souvenir- we'll just keep on squishin'...

Cheap entertainment? LOL

Cheap souvenir at Disney. I've got some in my purse to put in the scrapbook.

Can't buy much, even penny candy, these days with them. :(

Maybe I'll scan my few and show you the product? They're kind of just neat to have a memory of places. Susan in HRVA AF Wife to David Mom to CG, my angel Gareth, and Matthew
