Those MISSED photo opportunities

We spent Mother's Day at the Zoo. As a scrapbooker, my perception of what to take photos differs from that of my DH. Oh how I wish he would have grabbed the camera this time...

We were eating lunch. DS (8), DD, and I all chose a 20oz bottle of chocolate milk to drink with our meal. Toward the end of the meal, I set my bottle down but it was not stable when I put it down. My quick motherly reflexes kicked in to save the bottle from tipping over. What I actually accomplished was tossing the chocolate milk ALL OVER DS. I kid you not! I cleaned milk off his ears and his ankles. His shirt and his shorts were soaked! It was all over his face, in his hair and in his crocs. It was one of those moments you just stand there with your mouth open and say "Ohhhh! I'm SOOO sorry!" Then burst out laughing at the situation.

DH, who never panics, sent DD off for napkins. I tried to get him to grab the camera but he just glared at me like "where are your priorities woman!".

A mother's day treasure but nothing to scrap! :-(

What a relief. I am so glad that I'm not the only one that when a situation like that occurs my reaction is to grab the camera. LOL! Your poor son though. LOL! How funny.

Oh my, I can completely understand why grabing the camera was one of your first thoughts! I would have paid to see that picture and the layout that you would have created for it!

Just too funny!

Too funny Amy. You need to do what I did, train your hubby to think like a scrapbooker! It didn't take very long at all.

Oh how funny! Yep you'll have to train him. That would have made a precious LO. At my house I would have titled the LO "PAY BACK!"

You do have a point, Lori. There is a fine line we as moms and scrappers have to follow between cherishing those funny moments and correcting what they've done wrong. DD, when she was about 2 or a little younger, finger painted in the ketchup on the kitchen floor. I didn't even think of taking a photo, even though as I look back now, I wish I had. LOL There she was, sitting on the floor in her sun dress, with a puddle of ketchup between her legs and finger painting in it. I called her name, and she put her hands straight up in the air, using her arms to cover her ears. LOL It was priceless! I wouldn't have used my hands, either....she would have gotten ketchup in her ears, and who wants that? But this little voice in my head said "You never told her she couldn't finger paint in the ketchup." So I calmly stripped her down to nothing, sat her in the kitchen sink, and used the sprayer to spray off the ketchup with warm water. Definately a missed photo opportunity! LOL

Amy I do believe you can scrap this memory anyway. Tell the story put a picture of a bottle of chocolate milk and a picture of the zoo entrance and perhaps the eating area. Too funny about DH! LOL
