We finally got a new inkjet printer!

We ran out of ink almost a year ago and it cost so much that we never got any more... last month DH found a floor-model printer on sale for fifty bucks and snapped it up. Alas, the ink for that cost another forty, and when we got it home we found out that it didn't actually work - it had been sitting around for so long that one of the jets was totally bolluxed up, and the factory warranty was already expired! So we took it back to the store right away and got our money back. And then we bought another printer that cost a little more but it was new in the box. It's not super-fancy, but it'll do the job. And it does copying in colour and black and white as well as printing, and it has the little slots in it to insert your camera's memory card if you want to take photos directly from the card. I know the scanner does the same job, but this will save a step.

Maybe now I'll be inspired to scrap if I can print out my own photos etc...

Good for you. I haven't printed out pictures much lately. Almost cheaper to let Walmart or Walgreens do it for me. That also saves on the expense of having to replace ink cartridges. My printers have separate cartridges for each color which I love.

Enjoy your new toy!

It's cheaper if you just want standard-sized prints... but I like to play with my photos in photoshop and crop/enlarge etc, and they're never standard-sized any more by the time I'm finished with them! The Dollar Tree sells photo paper, so the only real cost is the ink. And yes it's expensive, but it gives you a lot more flexibility in what you can do.
