Do you know if those big yellow envelopes acid-free? They're 9x12 inches, from Costco, and I guess they're designed for filing or mailing. I like to sort papers and little things into those envelopes, then throw those envelopes into a plastic box, but I don't want my papers to become discolored the next time I open it.
Sounds like a good storage idea, but I doubt that they are acid free...
However, perhaps if you buffer your items somehow by creating an acid free paper lining....just a thought.
