Align needle post in a Singer 500 (Rocketeer) (2025 Update)

Hi,

does anyone know how to align the needle post in a Singer 500 Rocketeer?

Mine is misaligned such that it touches the hook with every stitch. Zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing, zing...

Thanks!

I do, but these machines very RARELY go out of swing alignment. Before trying that, the problem may be a gummed up or stuck needlebar or design selector. I recommend dowsing the innerds out with TriFlo or another penetrating lubricant, then giving it a good lubing with sewing machine oil.

Make sure you mop all the TriFlo up before oiling! :) And clean off any old dried up grease: replace with new when oiling.
