Just because someone rarely posts doesn't mean they haven't been reading for months, or longer.
Sometimes it takes outsiders to see the reality of the way things are.
Another general rule, is if more than one person calls you on something instead of stomping off in a hissy, maybe, just maybe you should back up and take an objective look at your behavior and see if it's lacking. Or at least that's what my momma always told me.

The charter for this NG is indeed covered under the textiles charter.

If you actually read the list of charters you will find that only the rec.crafts.textiles groups have charters.
Alt. groups rarely have charters.

any alt. group that was properly created will have a charter, because a charter is needed to create a group. while it is true that many alt. groups were NOT created properly, that doesn't mean all alt. groups are charterless & are free-for-alls. you may find a lot of alt. groups created after the early mid-90s that don't have charters because at that point a lot of people got peeved at news.groups (rules! ew!) & used creating alt. groups as an end run around them. all you had to do was convince enough ISP news servers to carry one to get it propagated. lee
