I am trying to remember/find the webpage that gives general directions on converting regular patterns to maternity patterns. I think it was for shirts and pants.
No I am not expecting!!!
I would just like to pass it on to some people who need it and I can't remember what page it is and I can't find it on google.
If anyone happens to have it saved would you mind passing it on?
I have this link stored on my bookmarks list Michelle:-

is a page of sewing links related to breast feeding and maternity wear - I haven't checked them - but one might have what your friends need. I purchased maternity trousers, but did make one blouse and four night T-shirt dresses for myself. The pattern alteration is easy - just pivot the front and back pattern pieces from the armscye / side seam point outwards, thus adding a triangle of fabric to each side. You can keep the increase at the back smaller than that at the front, or make them the same. You also need to lengthen the front pattern pieces. I guesstimated the increases for my stuff.
Out of interest, I put on around 15" around my waist, but I carried very neatly, totally forwards and DD rested in a vertical head up position which probably helped.
Thats almost exactly how I carried. I didn't even look pregnant from the back up until the bitter end! (was consecutivley 3 weeks, 2 weeks and 1 week overdue with the kids oldest to youngest- thats why its bitter - if I have another I might deliver on time if you see the pattern here)
but the front was a whole other story.... I think I also added about 15" each time.
