I have a semi-finished basement (painted concrete floors, dropped ceiling tiles, bathroom, painted block walls, and a bathroom). It was prone to flooding until three years ago when had a lot of work done to divert water well away from the house. So far so good--and we get a lot of pour-downs in Middle Tennessee. Now I'm thinking of moving my sewing into the basement. I think I will l will leaved my fabric stash upstairs though. My question is my sewing machines. I have two portable machines--an old Bernina and a 15-year-old Singer--neither are electronic. Will residing in the basement affect the performance and overall health of my machines?
