Burda WOF Question

Oct 02, 2007 1 Replies

Hi there, Quick question about Burda World of Fashion. If you subscribe to it...what do you get? A book to show what patterns they offer, or does it actually include sewing patterns with the subscription? I thought I heard about a subscription like this and wasn't sure what it was. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! Have a nice night!

Dear LLM,

I subscribed to Burda for years when I was working. My students loved it. It has photos and drawings of garments, some by students, and all of the patterns are right in the magazine for use. They even come in sizes. The problem is that they are overwritten, and there are no seam allowances, so everything has to be traced off. If you're young, like trendy styles, then I think you'd like the magazine. It's pricey, but for what you get, I guess it's worth it. I don't subscribe any more, as I'm elderly and the styles just aren't "me" now.
