Convert to fleece

Today I finally finished my daughter's fleece winter dressing gown (we're in Australia), with a flurry of activity brought on by the sudden cold weather (very late for Sydney) and dd getting tonsillitis. It looks great and she's delighted. So am I as I have discovered that fleece isn't as hard to work with as I'd feared. Thanks to all who gave guidance on sewing with fleece.

Glad that went OK! :) I like fleece - it stays where you put it!

Congratulations!! Fleece dressing gown's are great, aren't they? anything in fleece is for that matter. I made a dressing gown for my

3yo grandaughter who lives in Sydney and she loves it and have fleece for another dressing gown for myself that is about 3rd or 4th on the project list.

Have you thought about making a pair of fleece slippers to match? There are several patterns floating around, (try google) and I think

have one too. I was going to make some embroidered slippers for GD but she already has some, so I'll make the next pair, at her age they grow out of them quickly.

Has turned much cooler since Tues hasn't it? First day of winter today so I suppose it had to come. Have fun with your sewing. Bronwyn ;-)

It's like that here too. Which is a bit depressing for the 1st of June ... in Yorkshire. Bl00dy January again!

That's a great idea as I have a bit of material left over. Some will be used to make a sleeping bag for favourite doll but something practical and matching would be good. Do you put anything on the soles to make them nonslip? Our house is all floorboards and tiles and the fleece slippers would be like skates! They'll be great for the sudden cold weather.

What about lots of dots of puff paint? Would that render them less lethal?

It was suggested to use Magic Grip...you can buy it a Go-Lo and those type of stores for $2 per roll, it's more expensive at Spotlight and even more expensive at Clark Rubber. I haven't tried it on slipper soles yet but have used it for other applications. The puff paint dots sound good too, but would be a little time consuming?? Maybe the kids could paint their own design on the soles?? LOL
