Do you have an old Singer & buttonhole attachment?

Hello again!

Some months ago I bought my wife two buttonhole attachments for my wife's old 99K Singer. One is the cam type and the other, the fully adjustable type.

The adjustable one is probably the one she will use the most - but...

When sewing a buttonhole, the stitch width of the left side of the buttonhole is wider than the right-hand side.

Does anyone know why?

Allan.

Thanks - I'll dig it out and have another look. Thanks to the others who replied too - I did take it apart and cleaned and oiled it when we first got them.

I have several of those old buttonhole attachments, and they all work fine....no one-sided buttonholes! Do you have the manual for yours? They do need to be cleaned and oiled and maybe it's been a while since yours was.
