wanna see the pirate costume i made my daughter...and the cape I made for her friend???

I had a blast making them. Maya's bodysuit ended up being too small (short in the torso so it wouldn't fasten at the crotch) but i didn't know until that night because she refused to try it on until halloween.

The cape was fun...they were over for dinner the week before...and the only measurement i got out of this active 2 year old was his approx. height. I was so afraid it wouldn't fit! but it looked wonderful with his little tux!

How cute! I just giggled that she wouldn't try it on before Halloween. lol Mine were both "can I put my costume on for just a minute??? PLEASE!?!?!?!" LOL This is why I wait till the last minute to finish. ;) Saves having to remake the costumes when they wear them while making a jelly sandwich. lol

Great job on both. No one would ever know that the bodysuit was short. :) Can you make an "extender" for it? Scrap of fabric with velcro at both ends. Then you could velcro that in there to give her more room.

wow...the extender idea is great...why didn't i think of that myself!

she likes to play dress up, and i thought the bodysuit would just get tossed while the rest of the costume went in the dress up box...she likes the shirt, so i hated to do that...now it will last a while :)

thanks!

What a cutie! She is probably the most adorable pirate I've ever seen. LOL

Little kids always look the coolest at Halloween! Both of them are so cute! And a great job on the cape for it being a last-minute thing...

You're absolutely welcome. :) And you didn't think of it because you were too busy being frustrated that the body suit came out too short. I've BTDT and got the t-shirt. ;)

Glad to help.

nah...my costume didn't work out...I just wore a black skirt and an orange shirt. I'm going in for a c-section on Nov 25th. Only 19 days left! Now I just have to get DH to take me out on a dinner date before then and everything gets turned upside down ;)
