Okay, so I didn't get to the chrio - trying to keep expenses down for a few months to knock off some debt - but for 2 days I wore heat patches, and the 2nd day I added the back brace. I'm pretty much ok now except for the occassional twinge.
The water heater works wonderuflly and it seems to take less time to get the hot water flowing in the upstairs bathroom, which is also a bonus.
I haven't started on the commissioned quilt yet, other than to purchase the fabrics and some template plastic. Need to get the fabrics washed and dried and ironed so that they are ready for me to work with when I have the time.
I am currently hemming the last of 3 pairs of pants for a friend's husband - not a big thing, and she took my charge off my order from Mary Kay order. Next up is finishing my costume for the church's AWANA festival and halloween alternative party (yes, 2 different happenings). All was going well with that (I made some alterations so that i didn't have to deal with back lacings and such) until Ken questioned whether a mythical being was appropriate to wear to a conservative church function . Ok, so NO to the harvest fairy and NO to Mother Nature....now what can I turn the costume into?? Ah-Ha!!! Just because I tend to lean towards the spiteful, and also because Ken says that I am one, I will be dressing as a "Proverbs 31 woman" (grab a Bible and look it up if you don't know it because it's rather long to type....or search online for it....oh just wait until the end of this post and you can read it...lol). I was going to focus only on the veses that had to deal with fabrics and such, but then I remembered (duh!) that i have a EuroPro that I can enter the words into and it will stitch it onto my fbric!! SO, now the plan, if I have enough time, is to stitch the entire passage onto the hem of the muslin (linen) gown. It will be worn with a purple velvet "vest" and sash - oh, and I will be making an underskirt as I forgot just how see through muslin really is. I'll post pictures when everything is finished.
As for the rest of the family, DH is a scarecrow, DD wants to be either a cheerleader, or a princess (go figure!) and DS wants to be either SPiderman or a pirate (again, go figure!).
So that's where I am now...will get to work as soon as I update bills and such so I know if we are making headway or still treading water.
