Elan Patterns - CAUTION!!

The recent topic of bra making ....paired with the 60 Minutes expose on $2000 custom made bras from Paris.....got me thoroughly convinced to go ahead and try it. CAUTION....I "Googled" for Elan Patterns......and I clicked on the 6th entry down.....DON'T DO IT! That link (not an official Elan website) has a Horrible Trojan Horse VIRUS!!!! It immediately takes over the entire computer. Luckily we have lot's of virus protection and my computer savvy husband came to the rescue. But it still took hours to clean it out and put the computer right again. I have since viewed the patterns at another site....but want to caution everyone. Joy in Michigan

60 Minutes basically said that most women are wearing "the wrong bra." It is either ill-fitted or wrong. You should get a proper fitting with a professional at least once a year. They went on to say that you shouldn't wear bras with elastic straps. That if it rides up in the back it isn't fit properly. It is BEST to have a dart in the cup. It is BEST to have seams in your bra because it adds support. That too many people wear "shapeless" bras....and that the breasts should be molded and held high with a slight point upward. O.K......yeah right.....then they went on to say that most women wouldn't dream of getting a custom made bra because of the expense and "who would see it" atttude but that they should do it just for them. They will feel prettier knowing how lovely their dainties are....and they will make them feel special. We deserve it. Joy

Well Joy, I don't think too many of us were about to run to Paris for that custom fit $2000 bra anyway...but "perky" breasts sounds nicer than the way the lady on 60 Minutes made it sound. Joy in Michigan

Just why is it that we should be so configured, with the assistance of the lingerie industry? This would not occur naturally under any circumstances. Why is it of value to us? Why should we care?

On the issue of authorities, this was in my morning paper:
