Fabric Memo Board

Feb 05, 2004 3 Replies

Hi,

Anyone ever make a fabric memory (photo) board and have ideas on attaching covered buttons? I've made one with a cork board frame and one with an artist's canvas frame, but can't seem to figure out how to get the buttons (covered with matching fabric) to lay nice and flat and tight against the board.

Thanks!

Paula

One easy way:

Take a long piece of stout thread or fine twine. Lay it down on the board with the midpoint of the string where you want the button to be. Staple the string to the board. Now thread the button onto the string and tie tightly. Trim the ends.

Thanks Welmoed,

I had just thought of using a staple, but wasn't sure how to attach the button. I thought of hot-glueing it (taking off the shank), but I don't think the metal back of the button will glue to the fabric. I'll try your suggestion.
