A coworker was telling me about a visitor they had wearing those very furry boots. Not sure if they are Ugg boots or just ugly boots. Anyway their very friendly and outgoing golden retreiver was TERRIFIED of those boots. He wouldn't take his eyes off them, but was trying to stay as far away from them as possible. Maybe people should listen to their pets on what is sensible to wear or not.

The thing about that stuff is not that it's for making skin tight things (or even tighter than skin things!) but that it has good recovery. Make it up like standard wool suiting, and you have skirts that never seat, trousers that fail miserably to go baggy at the knees, and never again see a baggy elbow in a jacket. It's great stuff in the right places.
"...good recovery..." That's the reason I like a little spandex in my jeans. No baggy knees or seat.
I found some Lurex/elastane mix denim in the loft while looking for something completely different... I wonder if I dare... ;)

My personal citations would be issued for grown women wearing barnyard animals (what is the fascination with pigs, cows and frogs?) and cartoon characters on their shirts, if you must, save it schlepping at home. For people that get annoyed when you are trying to read whatever message they have printed across their chest. Anything too tight on anyone and Speedos should be outlawed.

I do wholeheartedly agree about the horizontal stripes. We all know that they only work in the smallest of doses, but just about every RTW line for women of substance is overloaded with the danged things! Even the Wally-world had stripes everywhere. I can't understand why they keep making the things when they are so wrong!
I am an unapologetic hippie who lives in jeans and t-shirts even at work (t's hard to pull Cat 5 in a flippy skirt and kitten heels). I have noticed that I don't seem to vary much in my range of outfits, so I am guilty of the "stuck in an era" syndrome. But at least my jeans fit and are clean. Same with the tees.
I am planning a spring cleaning of the closets and will likely be making a huge donation to the local Safe Nest shelter. Too many things I bought/made and then never wore, so maybe someone else will be able to use them.
