It's spring?!

Hard to believe it's spring. We've got about 1/4 inch of snow in places, roads are clear, sidewalks are mostly clear but icy, and trees and roofs are coated with snow as well. It's foggy where I am, not too dense, but just gorgeous, adding an element of mystery to the day. Feels more like winter should have. We can use the moisture

Yesterday, we were out walking in a wet slushy snowstorm. Had on some good clothes, some bad, live and learn. The waterproof jacket and hood were great. The blue jeans were not. My legs were soaked and mottled red and white with the cold by the time we got done with our extra long walk enjoying the weather, and my tennis shoes are still drying. Should have worn heavy cloth pants and my winter boots!

Perfect weather to knit or crochet, but alas work comes first.

Ummm! sorry Leah - just not the kind of spring I would appreciate!!!. We , of course, are almost over the first month of autumn ( fall) which is my favourite season as the summer heat is over. God Bless Gwen

Here in Central CT the calendar says spring, but the temperature doesn't - it's in the high 30's with gusty and cold winds. The little crocuses (croci?) are trying to open their eyes and there are buds on the lilac bush outside the kitchen window, so the promise is there. Hugs Joan

I'm totally with you people.... it doesn't feel like spring outside. Thankfully the most snow we've gotten over the last couple of days is just a light dusting... but MAN it is really cold outside!!! Even yesterday when the sun was shining so brightly, that air was bitterly cold.

Ah well... the warmth will get here soon enough... then we can moan about how hot it is. LOL It DOES happen, no matter how much people say "Oh I won't complain about the heat!" Wanna bet?!? ;o)

Hi Gemini,

Nope, won't bet at all as I know that's what we will be doing in July and Aug. complaining about the heat. LOL

It's been a cloudy day here and cold for what it should be, but they say by the weekend it will warm up and then we can expect rain/snow showers. Can't win and we're never happy.

Hugs,

Nora

I was in the nearby city today and there was some weird weather going on for a few minutes. I had popped into a variety store to get myself a drink and when I came out I could barely see... there were the tiniest snow pellets imaginable coming down hard and fast, and a LOT of it. It wasn't soft enough to be snow, and not icy enough to be hail... just snow pellets (like microscopic snowballs) is the best way to describe it. It lasted a few minutes then stopped and what had come down melted almost right away leaving the roads soaking... looking like it had rained a lot.
