Happy spring to you to Dreamy and to everyone else!

I saw geese yesterday and DH saw gophers. This morning I heard what I'm pretty sure was a robin! Haven't actually seen him yet tho. The sun is shining, the snow is melting, and we have MUD! That part isn't so great with a golden retriever in the house. However, I got smart and sent him to a groomer Wed and she trimmed his feet and all the long dangly hairs. He looks a little funny, but it will grow back and I'll have much less dirt in the house over the next few weeks.

Lots of geese winter-over here in the Swamp. It's quite a sight to see one standing on a gator. The gators don't seem to mind. They've been practicing their flight patterns for more than a month; so glad to hear they've made it home okay. Polly

Lots of geese winter over here, too. There is a dam across the river, which creates a lake behind it. The municipal power plant uses water from the lake for cooling. This keeps the water warm enough so that it doesn't freeze over and a large flock (as many as 30-35,000)of giant Canada geese are here all winter. This particular species was thought to be extinct until they were found here about 50 years ago. They definitely are not extinct now and have become a bit of a nuisance around the lake.

Well they don't think that they are a nuisance! They are just doing what geese are supposed to. Poor things, people just calling them names for no good reason! (Insert the pathetic voice and have it dripping with sweet, humorous sarcasm here!)

Happy spring! I have had a yard full of croci, my daffodils have started to bloom, the red-breasted (or red-rested as my DD would say) has been here for a few weeks, and the blue jays just arrived a couple of days ago. I took it as a good sign, even though it is still wintery cold, and cleaned out the kidlets dressers and closet! Almost done pulling out all of those clothes that really are too small for them! (Just have to hit the ones in the laundry to make sure none of them snuck by me!)

Enjoy! Dannielle

Happy Spring to you too Dreamy and all. Maybe those geese up in Canada were the ones that flew by here a couple of weeks ago? We noticed a couple of 'V' formations of them flying north. It has been years since I saw any of them although I know they fly over twice a year. They are beautiful. I was out scooping dog poo and was overcome by the smell of the blooming fruit trees. That sure was a pleasant change! Water in pool warmed up to 62, daffodils blooming and lady banks roses busting loose. I was sitting in front of the sewing room window at the machine yesterday trying to make note of how really beautiful of a day it was. The kind of day you need to remember in the depths of cold winter or the 110 heat of August. It was that pretty of a day yesterday. I have been working on a quilt of florals. Simple block that came from Teri Christopher and her Best of Black Mountian Quilts book. She does some really neat stuff.

Happy Spring to all! (...or Autumn) We haven't seen geese up here yet, but we did have a pair of robins that dropped in in February and decided to stay... (why, I DO NOT KNOW - it's been cold!) I can't see my garden area yet! BUT the snow is slowly melting! Welcome, northerners, to "Mud Season!" I envy those who have daffodills & crocus coming up. We haven't yet put the snowblower away - or the snow shovels.... BUT it IS spring, and the warmth will follow! Maine-Judy

Well, Happy Autumn, actually. The water goes down our plugholes in the other direction and we have this weird thing of really hot weather in the middle of your winter.

But what the heck. Sounds like a Super reason for a party

Happy Autumn to you Tutu and all you folks on the other end of the seasons. By the time we get around to that we are ready for it too! I guess the change of seasons is a good thing any way around. Party never a bad plan. : ) Taria

Happy Spring to the northerners, happy Autumn to southerners -- me for one, pleased to have autumn, still warm days and some humidity but looking forward to cooler evenings and better sleep! It was a loooong summer.
