Red Lake Project Update - finally

Okay, so for those who are relatively new, a number of years ago there was a shooting at the High School on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Northern Minnesota. I began a project collecting quilts with the intention of delivering them, whole quilts not blocks, to the emergency workers, families of victims, the High School itself, etc. Anyway, long story short, I have been in and out of the hospital for the last four years (just got out again yesterday) and never could complete the project, let alone get the quilts I did have returned. Now, all quilts are back where they belong, and I've tried to contact everyone that was involved.

I deeply apologize for how long this has taken, and for not being able to follow through. I want to sincerely thank everyone that participated for their willingness, generosity, and their patience!

I am truly sorry, Dreamweaver

No apologies needed......it was your heart that spoke and that's what truly is important.

We appreciate that you came forward and let us know. Life/health sometimes gets in the way of our best-laid plans, and there is often not a lot that can be done with those plans.

We were having our own awful mess around that time - maybe Katrina? so I don't remember much about it, but I agree with Donna. What you had in your heart to do is what's important. Good for you for managing to get the quilts returned. I'm sure they'll find somebody to love. Polly

Polly, Thank you. Some of the quilts have already found homes and have begun their healing purpose already, and since healing was the whole idea.....

-- Dreamweaver - I don't always understand why things work out the way they do, but I know inevitably it's for the good. I have to believe that.
