Firehouse Angel Update

From Linda T:

Dear Tia, (and you can post this to rctn as well please?)

Today the Angel was presented to the same firehouse that the people from Tennessee donated the fire truck to. Heather, her husband Brian, and I were warmly welcomed by the Fire Company. Heather lovingly unpacked the Angel for all of us to see. And she is beautiful! And the framing was out of this world! Thank you Tia for coordinating this whole project! We had Suzanne who was our liaison from the NYPD. She is a lovely person. The men there really enjoyed our Angel. She will be hung in that firehouse in the Battalion Office later today. We had the official photographer for the NYPD taking pictures as well as 3 cameras of our own. Afterwards, they fed us lunch! And I even had a fireman chauffeur TO and FROM the firehouse! Door to door from HERE in New Jersey! The captain gave each of us (plus my husband!) an official NYFD Harlem T-shirt! They were simply amazed at everyone who participated in her creation! They warmly thanked all of us and I am passing their thanks and appreciation to all of you! Later today, when my son comes back with the card reader for my "el cheapo" digital camera, I will download and email pictures to Tia Mary and Dianne. Thank you for letting Heather and myself represent all of you. I felt honored by all of you and the NYFD. Sincerely yours, Linda T

My cable has been out for most of today, both TV and Internet. Happily, the first thing I read when I got back on line was this wonderful account of what sounds like a fabulous day.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Ahhh... I presumed it must be something like that. I was asked by several people if I was "the one from Tennessee who gave us the rig?" The photos were taken in front of this truck, which is in use and VERY much appreciated by the guys in FDNY E35L14 (Engine 35 Ladder 14) where we made the presentation. I think the guys are still blown away by the generosity shown all around the country. Heather
