RE: Angel Presentation

Hi Guys, I haven't seen Heather or Linda post about Presentation of the Angel. I was able to access my e-mail while in Lizard Land and the date for Presentation of the Firehouse Angel is this Friday -- 18 August. IIRC, Suzanne (the woman with the FDNY) said there would be someone there to take a few photos. I do hope that either Heather, Linda or one of the people joining them on the trek to Manhattan Battalion HQ will be taking some photos. I honestly can't believe the Angel is almost in her new home! It's been just three years and I think that's a pretty good time to get this type of project stitched, framed and delivered to its new home. Many, many thanks to everyone who worked on the piece, donated money or supplies for the piece and also to those who just gave the stitchers the encouragement needed to see a project of this type to its conclusion. And the same sentiments multiplied a hundred times for *you*, Tia Mary! I hope it makes the front pages of the NYT! :)

Is it okay if I don't? ! :) I hadn't posted about the presentation time yet as I was still waiting for my boss to approve the day off for me to go deliver it (which he has now done). We'll be headed in Friday morning to present her and I hope she will bring much joy and solace to the families. Now I just want to get her hung (temporarily) on my wall and see if my fancy new camera will take any decent pictures of her! While Tia Mary's shows the wonderful stitching, it doesn't come close to capturing the full impact of her as framed! DH will be coming (and working our camera) and the FDNY will have an official photographer there, so I'm sure there will be photos for the group. I'll email them to Dianne to add to the website, and I have my own website I never come close to using all my bandwidth on so I'll be happy to host them there too.

--Dianne-- I saw your message about including MLI's story of the angel and had already printed it out to go with it. I'm planning on taking it to Kinkos after work to see if I can find some gorgeous paper like Tia Mary used for the existing information on the back.

Heather

Heather, I used an acid free parchment if that helps at all. I originally bought it for my calligraphy work but thought it looked nice for the Angel. I never thought to include the info about MLI! CiaoMeow >^;;^<
