Firehouse Angel - Framing

It just occurred to me that it's going to be difficult to ship this very large piece to New York and not have it break. I don't have much experience with this sort of thing, but I do know when moving, special things need to be done to protect glass. It's also going to be heavy and expensive to ship. Specialty boxes don't come cheap. I imagine you can take it to a UPS or other shipping store to have it boxed up.

Would it make more sense to have someone in New York have the framing done?

Just asking. Not trying to control.

When I did EarthDancer, I packaged and shipped her to Lizard Land so I KNOW how to pack a large MLI design :-)! Shipping was about $60.00 for that piece but it was HUGE -- way bigger than the Firehouse Angel will be. MLI framed the piece and it had a 4" inner matte then a 1" fillet frame then a 5" outer matte then a HUGE 6.5" wide outer frame! That framed piece was something like 36" x 45"!!! NO WAY will we have the resources to frame the Firehouse Angel in that manner! CiaoMeow >^;;^<
